Easier to use than I thought
I have a 2012 Fiat 500 with a plastic drivers seat arm rest that shattered when I placed far too much body weight on it. I was able to put it all back together with some of the provided wire staples that the gun heated down into the plastic.I have a regular old large soldering iron I have used in the past for plastic welding with not a lot of success but this method with the gun and heated staples is fantastic. Very easy to control and release. Sniped off the protruding wire ends and then using a Dremel cleaned up all the area and then flooded it with epoxy. Quick coat of paint and you cannot even tell it was once broken.I know there are broken tabs on the front bumper of the Fiat so I will use this to repair those as well when I pull it off to paint it.

Great for repairing cracks in thick plastic
This kit includes everything you need to repair thick plastic housings and other loading-bearing plastic material situations. The reason I say "load bearing" is because the point of this kit is to melt the staples directly into the surface of the plastic - think of it as "stitches for thick plastic materials". The kit contains everything you need to make these repairs, including the gun which heats up the staples very fast, the staples you insert into the head of this device to be heated and then melted into the surface of the item under repair, and even the wire cutters for removing the ends of the staples that need to be removed after making the repair. There are also pieces of plastic you can use to melt into cracks for cosmetic repairs on cracks that you're not worried about flexing, two smoothing heads for smoothing the plastic into cracks, as well as sand paper for finishing up the repair, and wire mesh and foil for other types of repair I don't yet understand. To do a good repair I would recommend using the staples on the crack in the plastic, cutting off the tops of the staples, sanding then using Bondo and paint to cover up the repair. The plastic smoothing seems like a difficult task, but maybe I'm just not skilled enough. There are many types of staples to use for repairs in many different sizes and styles for flat surfaces, inside corners, outside corners and larger and smaller repairs. This kit will certainly allow you to repair something you thought was broken, because we all know that SuperGlue doesn't fix everything.Update: I used the plastic staples to repair a plastic bag clip I was about to throw out, and it performed remarkably well. To say this thing heats up the staples quickly is an understatement. It's almost instantaneous. You press the trigger while pressing the staple into the surface of the plastic item you're repairing, and it almost immediately starts to melt into the surface of the plastic item. All you need to do from there is use the included wire cutters to remove the ends of the staples, and you're done. I tried using the smoothing tool to melt plastic from the included plastic rods into the crack and see if it would yield a more finished look, but this clearly requires skill and practice. Let's just say it didn't look great when I tried it, but using the staples is fast and easy & yields a durable repair.

Product works well
For the price, it's a good buy. The was it fits into the plastic carrying case, stuffed in there with no room is an issue. I wish I had about 2" more width and hight and the stuff would set in a lot better. Definitely considering a different carrier for it. But all in all it does what it's supposed to do and I have used it several times already to fix fenders on for wheelers, the bumper or my car, and a headlight bracket.

Really cool product that gives new life to broken plastic parts! Super easy to use!!
I will admit I didn't know that such a product existed! It never occurred to me that plastic could be repaired, other than by something like super glue. My super glue repairs never held up very well for items that flexed or had to support some weight. Enter the magic stapler!! This thing heats up metal staples within seconds, pressing them down into the plastic that is broken. It allows you to secure pieces back together, and provides mechanical strength to the part. It is incredibly easy to use, with virtually no learning curve for simple repairs. There are lots of other pieces and things included for other types of repairs, but the staples are the easiest things to use.

What a cool tool
Love this plastic welder. How many times has a little piece of plastic broken off and ruined the usefulness of something you love?!?!Being a clumsy person, this is such a huge game changer. Special awareness isn’t my strongest suit and this amazing contraption makes it so my clumsy moments don’t have to permanently destroy plastic items throughout my houseI’ve used it twice and I was a little intimidated at first but after watching a few videos and studying the instructions I have it a go and I am so impressed with how cool this thing is!

This is gonna get some use.
I have for years wanted something like this. So many things I could have fixed. Now that I have one I didn't have a project that needed it. lol Isn't that the way it always is. So I just found some scrap stuff to test it with to make sure it would do the job when needed. :)Seems to do a good job. I tested a 6 inch piece that I snapped. Followed directions and did watch a few youtubes. Mostly went smooth. A few little things here and there that really only after using you learn. But the piece went back together and was happy with its results. Now to use it for something needed. Will update with more if needed once another project comes along.
