Colour varies
I have worn this style of Clarks shoes (and its similar model) for several years because they have a thick sole (which I need), are reasonably smart and last a reasonable amount of time. The quality of the upper has gone down a little over time. This latest version has lost most of its black shading so that they are now largely just a pair of brown shoes, perhaps darker than they used to be (the photograph seems out of date), but still worth buying.

Good pair of shoes
The shoes look good, the outer leather not so shiny, but that's OK, I found the sole of the shoes a little too heavy and hard, however, I'm comparing it to formal leather shoes. Going up the stairs needs a little more effort, but maybe it's something I need to get used to over time. In general, the shoes are comfortable for wide feet, and I have been using it daily and its getting softer after a week, at first it was rubbing in places but not anymore. I gave it 4 stars for weight as it was a slight shock at first!Update: I still find these shoes heavy, I know for a fact that if I needed to run to catch a bus it won't be an easy run. The sole doesn't get softer, it's a rough thick sole, might be as strong as an off road tier. I can bet this sole will live far much longer than the upper part of the shoes.. I really can't get over the weight and inflexibility of it, to an extent that I decided to buy another pair of shoes so I don't have to wear these to work everyday.

Best Comfort Fitting
Clarks possibly not high on a fashionista brand list but if you want good fitting ,good looking and so light and comfortable work or leisure shoes these are the ones

Good value, nice looking, comfortable
Ordered my fourth pair at a special offer price (under forty-five quid)—ended up with a different colour to the one in the pics (got a uniform brown rather than the tan with darker toe) but they actually look really good so I'm happy to keep them, especially at this price. They're certainly not premium quality, and don't pretend to be, but at the same time they're not cheap looking either. They're what you would expect from Clarks, occupying that mid-price/mid-quality range.Sizing is just about right for me—a little bit large with thinner socks but good with thicker ones. They're comfortable immediately and don't need to be worn in to soften up.

Comfortable & Smart
Good shoes bought for a nurse. Very comfortable, good fit on size 8 and look smart. Grips on sole good. Not too chunky.

Comfy and durable.
I have worn these shoes most day for the past 6 months. I really like that the soles are chunky and offer really good grip for the winter months. They have lasted well and come up well with a polish.
