Stainless Steel only applies to small silverware tray bottom-plate
Item: Fanbsy Dish Drainer Rack in Sink Adjustable,Price: $34.99 at time of review on 11 19 23We have a prosumer stainless farmer’s sink with a matching bottom sink rack and matching stainless faucet accessories. The quality of stainless has proved itself over the last near five years. I can’t say the same for the four dish-racks we’ve gone through. So yes, I’ve had plenty of experience with plated wire racks; some with stainless rods coupled with plastic frame elements and most with molded plastic silverware drain-trays. But all have had their issues, regardless of the varying price points. My first impressions of this rack… This is not a stainless steel wire-rack. I think it’s chrome plated steel wire, with one item that appears to be stainless. And that item is the small bottom plate in the silverware drain basket. In fact, the vendor page so describes it as much. So putting ‘stainless’ in the headline is really misleading. The stainless steel most usually incorporated into kitchen items is formed flat sheet stock, rod or bar formed stainless. So unless our racks have stainless hollow tubing in place of the wire rack construction, it’s a pre-plated and then chrome plated steel wire that’s then spot welded. So again, I felt the vendor included a specification that was inaccurate. Secondly, I wasn’t prepared for just how small this drain rack actually is. While the expandable wire ‘wings’ did allow me to put it at the top of our large ‘farmer’s sink’, it appeared more like a mini-rack. And I say that having owned and used multiple versions of racks over the years. This reminds me of a ‘studio apartment’ kitchen accessory. The photographs on the vendor page include silverware that’s amazingly ‘shrunken’ in size, if you take a close look. When I put the rack in place, the silverware tray really stood out as being noticeably smaller in ratio, even to the small rack.Does it work as expected (?)… Well, after removing what was our drain rack, the one postitive was that I was able to immediately position the rack flush to the top of our sink. Our previous rack sat on a wire grate at the bottom of our sink. The downside of having a draining-drying rack near the bottom of a sink is the collection of small bits of food and such from rinsing and washing pots and dinnerware. So the Fanbsy’s elevation-placement away from ‘splashed food and such’ does offer that benefit. As I told my wife, this small rack somewhat forces us to towel dry and put away any of the bigger items like large pots and pans as well as large utensils. There just isn’t a lot of room in this rack. Will the rack resist rusting for EIGHT YEARS as indicated on the vendor page? I really doubt it. Stainless steel or not, the quality of what little stainless is used here and at this price would probably last fewer years if not months than a very well plated steel wire. And with this product, the 8-year claim is a moot point, given the product only has a one-year warranty. With all that said, and a week into using this rack, so far it's been an upgrade from our previous rack in that being at the top of the sink versus sitting in the sink has kept it cleaner. So while I was bothered by the inaccuracies of the vendor information and the small size, we're evidently settling into 'quietly' liking this rack over our previous one.

This thing is really handy
The media could not be loaded. I recieved the smaller size for review and I have to say I really like it. I've taken it camping and have also tested it out in the sink in my camper and it fits great thanks to it being adjustable. I have a seperate video on that. All in all this has become a great tool to have along for doing dishes easily. It has been really durable so far as well because I have banged it around a fair bit and have had no problems. I really do like it.
