Was excited to receive this product. But when I opened it, it looked a lot like the cheap polyester fake fur rugs in the big box stores. Then I checked the tag and it says “Ashle Home Deco” and 100% polyester (please see attached photos)?? I’m confused. Why would you advertise this as New Zealand sheepskin and then send me this?? Very disappointed!

I recently decided to buy a double pelt to cover my stained sofa. I found one on Amazon at $88 and thought it was a good deal. However, everything was wrong-- the quality of the fur, back skin, size, smell etc. So I bought this one to see if this will be THE ONE and sure it was.To compare with my previous purchase which I am returning:1) the size and weight of box was noticeablely different. The box size was almost as twice as bigger (although it was stuffed with paper) and the weight..! This was much heavier than the previous one. Not surprisingly, the size and thickness of the skin is very different (see photos).2) fur quality of the other one was very inconsistent. I could easily tell this was two sheepskin joint together. This one- no. It's seamlessly sewed and the fur quality is just fine and consistent on both sides. It's super fluffy, butterly soft.3) no awful odor at all. My other one had it.The only downside is the color. I bought "ivory" but it's more like a lemony yellow. But with this fur quality, color doesn't matter that much.I love furs. But this sheepskin is by far the best quality sheepskin I have ever seen.If you are debating whether or not to get it, go for it. You won't regret.

Advertised as thick and soft, it’s only just soft and not that thick, so it does not provide any of the cushioning I need for comfort. I have other much denser thicker sheepskins which work much better for pain-free cushioning. This one seems mostly for decoration and a soft feeling when sitting or leaning against it — but it’s not thick as advertised.

The thickness of this rug leaves much to be desired, the leather backing feels stiff and unnatural, and the fur doesn't feel too plush - almost stringy. I've ordered one other sheepskin rug from Amazon that was almost the same price which I much preferred - it felt luxurious and rich - this one is only mediocre.

These were perfect for our needs - to be draped over a couple of recliners and occasionally laid out on the floor for comfy movie viewing. They are more cream than true white which is fine and looks natural. Super soft and of good thickness. The slight animal hide smell was completely aired out in a few days. Feels so good on the back and we had had no reactions in our allergen-sensitive household. Easy to clean. Great value for the price. We’ll see how they hold up, but we’ve had them for a few months and are happy so far.

A big fat NO. I own many sheep skins and this is the worst by far. Feels fake and sheds like crazy. I don’t even want this thing in my house!

I’ve been buying Sheepskin rugs for a few years from Room & Board. I decided to try a new seller when they recently raised their prices. This rug is on par, if not better quality. The sheepskin is slightly larger and the fur is extremely dense, and long. The natural suede backing is perfect for hardwood floors, there is zero slipping! There is also no oder whatsoever and it arrived quickly. It is a bit pricier than a lot of sheepskins a similar size, but the quality is well worth the spend.

I purchased two to put on each side of my bed. Nothing is nicer than to feel the rug with your bare feet, before and after bedtime! A small but sweet luxury! I’m fine with the regular size pelts, but when I saw that this was washable, and happens to be a bit longer- why not? Dry cleaning is $50.00 For each household item. So I buy home washable where I can. Aside from that, I’ve had lamb let’s before and these compare beautifully in softness, shape, color and loft. I bought the deterrent/ soap and brush that are recommended. I love my rugs, I highly recommend. Ps- I’ve seen folks draw them at the foot of their bed. This is also a cool look with right decor!
