I like this hair wax! I felt like it could have been darker, as the ad was for black but the wax was a bit gray. It is more metallic than I expected. The wax is long lasting and has a strong hold. It smells great and looks great as long as you're okay with the color and metallic asthetic.

I followed every step and recommendation but it wasn't coating the hair like it said it would. Almost ripped chunks of hair out trying to use it and had to wash my hair 3 times to get it out.

This 'wax' is more like a slightly sticky cream. It applies easily and is easy to work with. And, just as important, it washes off pretty easily. One thing that some people may be sensitive about is that it has a slight smell that you might want to mask. I found that the smell persists a bit after washing off the cream, but some extra washing removes the smell.
