This unit works great! Mmm, usually...
At first I was hesitant of these because I was used to using the plug in modules that were Alexa based (VeSync, etc.) and that we’re plugged into outlets. Boy was I wrong, I love these more now.Once you add the app to your Alexa, “eWeLink“, this unit rocks. I have all my wiring in the house hooked up in my attic per these modules. You can also share permissions for particular switches if two of you use different amazon accounts and different Alexa’s. Which, really helps as I talked her into buying most of the dots my children use... :-)At first, I was frustrating hooking these units up to the wifi, because directions changed for different versions, but now it is pretty simple as they made a simple hold down variable. Also making that tiny screw a Phillips head, WOW, the frustration saved in the attic with only one screwdriver needed! Thanks!!! For the hardware update!!!I currently have 6 units in my attic controlling various light switches around my house, both of and newer versions, and just ordered three more for other rooms. Best option I would recommend is to change your power on state to “on”, so that it works with the power switch when wifi is acting wonky... You’ll always have light via the switch.Second suggestion for the company, make the Shell have more ruggedness vs the current casing, as it needs to be a little thicker to make it more rugged, as it feels cheap... Had to waste one unit because I was trying to secure it to the board, the mounting slipped off the motherboard before I secured it properly, and it took out the “long” program button. This was hassle, which you think the component would be secured better? Nope, with the component being surface mounted, ...... if you know solid state components I’d usually thin, doesn’t help anything grip into the motherboard.Btw, I’m an engineer, so I’ve worked with plenty of hardware, also if it’s over your head, just remember I like this unit a lot. It’s fairly easy to use and you can even put this o. The cord of your lamp and it will work to turn it off and on, no need to go into the attic for that.Third info you need to know, software needs updating!! Having this thing on a schedule is a pain, but this company is updating its software on a semi regular basis, and should change in the future with software updates.Fourth, this one may be a glitch? Turned off all my lights in the house with the “house off” verbal command, and we had units that aren’t hooked up to “house” turn off. This might be the biggest bug yet, don’t know how this happened, but it did, as my daughters went to their bathroom which is NOT hooked up to the house group, and their lights were off via the hand switch.I went and reconnected them with a verbal command and figured they somehow turned off maybe by hearing me incorrectly? with the “bathrooms” command for off, instead of house off command??? Most likely the cause but I’ll look into it.Besides that, having the app and being able to turn off everything remotely (outside of house and driving around) via the Amazon app or eWeLink app is nice. They Just need to work on that timer function or away function more to be concise and more user friendly, instead of an 80’s video game of “hope you guess it” functionality.

Takes so doing to actually enter program mode
Finicky to get into actual program mode. Instructions don’t fully explain this item’s actual means of setup (iPhone). Once you get it, performs well like other Sonoff devices. Have these inside fixtures in garage lights.

Challenging to Connect
Says it’s easy to hookup but i spent an hour or more…undeterred I discovered the “compatible pairing “ mode…add the device and at the bottom of the screen you’ll see that button. Set the device by holding the button for 5sec to enter pairing mode. Then press and hold again until the blue light flashes faster continuously.Once in that mode compatibility pairing will work.Hope that helps!Otherwise connected right up to Alexa and works as intended.

Update
i just used the third unit, the terminal block came off the circuit board and now is worthless.Update.The vender supplied me with the choice of three new units or a refund on all three units. Even the one was bad we went ahead and did the refund so customer service is really wonderful on this product and I had them almost a year a day before the warranty was going to expire the last one I used was bad, but he went ahead and did the warranty on them and replaced all three of them with cash back. Very happy customer.

Works great
Excellent, it works as expexted. The installation/configuration consists in:1. Electrical switch installation (N and L wires (just before a bulb in my case))2. Download eWelink app from Google Play3. Register a eWelink account4. Push the button in the device for 5 seconds (until it starts blinking)5. In the eWelink app pair the device, test the functionality (change the default name).6. Open Alexa app, look for the eWelink Smart Home skill and activate it, it will ask for a account, put the eWelink account info (the one you create at step 3), close the browser.7. Go to devices in the alexa app and add a new one selecting Light from the list, the choose other and it will start looking for the new device, once is found, add it and test it with your voice.

works well
Used these as wired in switches for alexa control. Works fine and very reliable. One can get some nice very customized results by mounting these to electrical boxes or to the chassis of what you are trying to control. If you do not have the knowledge and skills to do this safely you may be better off with a smart plug.
