THIS REALLY DOES WORK!
I was very sceptical about this after reading all the negative reviews, - but I thought, what the heck, it was very cheap (£3.40 I think postage included) and I could always return it, and warn others away.I have a Sky +HD box, and the signal strength was about 60%, and signal quality around 70% on both the 2 inputs. Picture on my TV was OK, (good philips TV though), but some (never watched anyway) channels said "Your Box is Not Receiving A Satellite Signal" - which of course it was, just not strong enough for every channel.I got this after nearly 2 weeks, - slow postage - but no problem - and plugged it in, expecting nothing much. Wow, the signal strength went to 100% on input 2, and signal quality went up to about 90+%. I swapped over the inputs on the box (apparently this does not matter which is which, so the engineer told me when he installed it) - and now I have 100% signal strength on input 1, about 60% on input 2, and about 95% signal quality on both. Input 2 is just for recording while watching another channel anyway.I am amazed, - it really does work! I now have 211 channels in superb quality on my Sky +HD box (Entertainment Extra package) and the only problem I have had in the past few days is that I am watching TV all the time, and recording stuff I will never have time to watch - I must get back to my work!I am really amazed how well this works, for such a cheap price too. I can only assume that others who said it does not must have a faulty box, or cables or dish or something, or perhaps they have tried installing it the wrong way around, - in and out are clearly marked. Works great for me on my Sky+HD box anyway. I would think it will work with ANY box, as it just simply boosts the signal, and if your dish is lined up OK, and your cables are OK (they do degrade after a few years) - well, I cannot see why some people seem to say they had a problem with this. Recommended!

Doesn't seem to do anything useful
I expected so much from this. Made a note of signal strength and quality and then connected it correctly. Checked signal strength and quality again and there was a difference. One had improved and one had gone down. As far as picture on the TV was concerned, I could not tell any difference. Perhaps I need two as I have Sky Plus which has 2 feeds from the dish but as nothing is mentioned I don't know whether it is worth buying another one for the other line. I appreciate the little unit is cheap and maybe worth the experiment but I don't think I will bother. I have given two stars because it is a neat looking item! Some reviews have raved about the efficacy of this. I am only guessing that these people had pretty lousy reception to start off with. My reception without this was between 50 and 75 per cent and this gizmo did nothing useful. Can't recommend this and can't even say it makes any difference to reception.

This is an in-line amplifier for insertion between the LNB and the receiver. In this case I found some pixellation on an HD Hotbird reception of Arte. Dish realignment was not the solution, but this booster served to minimise signal loss along the cable. It seems to have worked.Inserting the device is the inverse of how the print seems to suggest and reverse insertion will of course show no improvement. so read the leaflet/ Note also that this will help cable loss but *not* make the LNB (which receives the signal from the dish) become more sensitive. If you can't receive the station, this will not help.

Works as Expected
I have a Humax Foxsat-HDR with Tecnisat Multytenne TWIN, connected by 20 meters of twin feed cable. Before I fitted these devices the Freesat reception revealed 75% signal and 60% quality. After fitting, my Foxsat diagnostics indicates 100% signal and 90% quality on both Freesat feeds.Similar improvements in signal/quality are evident for other satellite positions on my system.I was already receiving a good picture without these devices, but with them I can be assured of the best possible picture.Recommended - especially for the price.

I would not hesitate in buying more
I received my two amplifiers on 23rd April 2013, it is now 24th May 2013.The labels on my Amplifiers state: FC-AMP-SAT/S 950-2300MHz GAIN 13-18dB 950-2300MHz MAX OUTPUT 100dBµV POWER PASS 15V DC [the 'DC' is depicted by the DC Symbol of three dashes beneath one solid line] ±3 0.5A MAX 0-22KHz.In each case I have connected the "IN" socket to the co-ax cable from the Satellite Dish and the "OUT" socket to a short co-ax cable I have made which is connected to the Satellite Set-Top Box (Sky+ box).I have two identical Sky+ boxes, each with two co-ax feeds off the same dish. The co-ax cables to the downstairs box (Box 1) are about 19m long with one coupler in each cable. The co-ax cables to the upstairs box (Box 2) are about 9m long. After horizontally wall fitting by cable ties (not supplied) two amplifiers (one on each cable) locally to Box 1, the following are the Signal Strengths (SS) and Quality (Q), for input 1 (I1) and input 2 (I2) as shown on each of the boxes, at 9:13am 11/05/2013. Box 1: I1, SS=10/10, Q=9/10; I2, SS=8/10, Q=7/10. Box 2: I1, SS=8/10, Q=9/10; I2, SS=6/10, Q=7/10.After being continuously powered up for a week, the outside case temperature of one amplifier was 29°C, and the outside case temperature of the other was 28°C. (The ambient air temperature at the time was 23°C ).Both these Amplifiers are a success, and at the price of £3.30 (Postage & Packing was £0.00) each, if the need arose, I would not hesitate in buying more.
