Garbage
Sent to me with no key to change the combination. So it is totally useless. Unless I am going to chance locking my stuff with a 000 combination which is a stupid thing to do. Now it actually costs me money to return this

Easy to use but do not follow instructions
Easy to use but do not follow instructions, follow the pictures.Lock does not look that sturdy, so I would use it on non critical luggage only or hand luggage.I am not sure if I like the TSA angle, how long before thieves get the key.

sturdy and seems to be durable...much more substantial than luggage locks pre TSA...

More solid than I expected, and very easy to change the combination
I've had various flavors of various locks through the years, pre- and post-TSA. Some insanely cheap and horrible, some better. This is at least one of the better ones. It's sturdy enough, what you'd expect from a small luggage bag, maybe a bit more. It's a bit heftier than I had expected, too.The instructions describe just fine how to change the combination - it's quick and easy. But the downside is that's all they describe. It simply says that the TSA can use special tools to open this, then they will securely relock your bag. The instructions don't mention anything about the alert so you know your bag was searched. If it wouldn't have mentioned that on the webpage here, I would not have known. And it doesn't specify HOW it alerts. I can see a little red plastic dot on top under the shackle, so my assumption is that maybe that pops up a little bit, like a thing in a turkey to help indicate it might be close to being done. It couldn't come up very far since then it might interfere with the actual shackle and whatever you're locking, but I don't see anything else that really looks like it could move somehow. And since I don't have TSA tools, I can't test it to make sure it does what it's supposed to do.But I like the heft, I like that it actually has a bit that the shackle goes down INTO to help keep it in place, unlike some cheaper ones I've had that simply went down flush against the top of the lock but didn't really secure at all, and could bend easily outward. So this certainly isn't going to stop anyone bent on stealing something, but that's never been their goal. For me, it's simply something I've always used to help keep zippers from opening accidentally during transportation and handling. And with the TSA's ability to open and re-lock this themselves, it's just one more thing I haven't used recently in my travels that I can once again get into the habit of throwing on my luggage. And considering the inexpensive nature of them, for me it's worth it.

Does a Good Job
My husband and I recently used combination locks for our luggage during a long trip. When we came home, I decided we will never use anything else on our luggage again. This lock has easily added to our collection. I easily set the lock to the same number as our other locks. Now we just have to remember a single combination instead of trying to find luggage keys every time we want to open our luggage. This lock is sturdier than the first locks I bought so I am pleased with it and it was easy to reset to our preferred combination. I can't testify to the search alert function since I don't have a TSA key but I will assume it will work. And I am not going to try to cut the lock open to test how hard it is to cut.But I don't buy these locks to prevent theft. None of these small locks are impenetrable and really I don't want them to be. I use them to secure luggage when traveling so zippers don't come open and to not make it TOO easy to get into my luggage for the casual thief such as when we have to leave luggage with the hotel concierge or send it through the airport's inner workings. But this does not make your luggage into Fort Knox and never will. Still, it provides a stronger peace of mind and I am happy to have it.
