Make straight accurate cuts with a hand saw!
I am very impressed with this hand saw guide. I was looking for something like this because always I cut all my wood by hand. However, trying to saw by hand is tricky. Free hand sawing can cause you to go off line, or your cuts may become unintentionally beveled. With this Okada Saw Guide, problem solved. You can make straight and accurate cross cuts as well as rip cuts. You can also saw at multiple angles using this guide. This is guide is very durable, well built, and well designed. Definitely worth purchasing.

Not bad, could be better
This is fairly well-made, with solidly thick steel. There are some clever things about it, and some things that aren't so clever. Overall, it's functional, but not fabulous. The saw blade is fair, not great. It would work with another saw-so you could use a better blade if you wanted to (as long as it was the right dimension to fit)The guide has a tendency to shift in use. There's not a much pressure available with the small handle and body of this unit, so it's not always easy to keep in place (which makes for not perfect cuts). Even so, if you are slow and careful, you can generally get good cuts. The guide only rotates to 45°. It would be nice if it would rotate to 50 ° or more. There are little plastic knobs on the screws to attach the guide rail and fence-which are lacking. They include a nice hex key with a holder for other adjustments, so I don't know why they didn't just use that for the attachment points as well.It comes with a 'dummy blade' for lining up cuts, which helps sometimes (you put it in the guide in place of the saw, line it up, then replace the guide with the saw and cut away). It also comes with a protractor that's of moderate value (it's not really easy to line up angles to cut with it)The cost seems a little high, but that's got a lot to do with shipping it from Japan. Local cost in Japan seems realistic. Shipped to USA cost is realistic, but doesn't make this a great value.Overall, I'm happy with this tool. It does a specific thing easily enough. The shortcomings aren't terrible, but they are annoying enough to detract from 'happy use'.
