LOVE love love this purchase. Didn't believe other buyers that the bag is HUGE. It is really huge. I think I'm going to sneak bay leaves into every letter that I write to family and friends.I bought these because I was tired of buying a small bottle of bay leaves at the store and running out in no time at all. I make a lot of stews, soups and home made stocks so I go through a lot of bay leaves. Was even contemplating buying a tree to always have some on hand. I don't have to worry about that now. I think I'll have enough bay leaves to last me till my oldest is out of college, he's 11. The quality of these leaves astounds me. I've never seen such nice ones, they are fragrant and fresh. A few here and there have blemishes but hey, it's a plant. They are sturdy thick leaves and aren't brittle at all. Even if you never use them all or give half away you'd still be saving money. Just don't be surprised when you open the box and see a HUGE bag in there.

It arrived quick and in good shape This is a fine product. The picture does not do it justice. The bag is huge. The aroma is awesome. A hundred times more aromatic than the dinky spice bottles you get at the store. AND IT IS ORGANIC. I know before I try it in a meal, this is going to be over the top. But wait. It gets better.Someone told me a little known tidbit. Y'know if you frequent health food stores, a popular air freshener is sage. They sell little clumps that you can light with a match or a stove flame, and they make billows of smoke that smell wonderful. Well, I am no fan of refinishing grimy kitchens or bathrooms, so billowing clouds of smoke do not appeal much to me. But if you hold a bayleaf over a flame, it will burn momentarily and make just a tiny wisp of smoke then go out. But it scents the whole room. It's like a purifier.

I never leave reviews....but I felt like I had to this time. I was so impressed with this product. From USA farmers, organic and at a reasonable price, I figured it was worth the risk. If they supply other herbs/products, I will definitely be ordering from this company in the future. It was amazing, I opened the box, the bag was still sealed and I could smell the scent, it was that fresh. 1 lb is enough to last me a lifetime, I could not believe how much was there! I will definitely be sharing some with family/friends. I am so pleased. There was only like 5-10 leaves in the whole bag of hundreds that I wouldn't cook with, but could still use for personal care products-I didn't know until recently some of the variety of uses for health the bay leaf offers. Since I opened the bag, I decided to disperse the contents into several smaller mylar bags that I could add 100cc oxygen absorbers to and seal to keep as fresh as possible for later use. My only recommendation to the company would be to offer a resealable bag.

Smell is great! So these arrived packaged well, most were WHOLE and not broken or pieces.. there were quite a few with wholes (probably from bugs prior to packing), not many with spotting.. maybe 1oz of the leaves that were broken, with holes or spotted would be better used for spreading around pantry area or drawers with food containers.. I would say you get value when purchasing this bulk just have a way to store them in smaller airtight packages because there is no way to reseal the bag once you open it.

First I MUST SAY... :-) I will never need to purchase another order of Bay Leaves for a number of years... Ha..ha.. ha..! I sure got a great supply with this 16 ounce order, enough to share with neighbors, friends and relatives... and still have a life-time supply. The Bay Leaves are whole and not broken up...of various sizes...and they are flavorful when I use them quite often in my cooking. I am VERY PLEASED with this order and I will order ALL my other seasonings from Amazon. I find they have a good quality and variety of spice products to purchase, at excellent prices. I would recommend that if you want a life time supply of Bay Leaves... to have and share with friends... or give as "gifts"... order the 16 ounce bag... but be prepared to have a LARGE container to put them into... about a gallon sized jug. :-)

I've always purchased my bay leaves at local markets but each time I get disappointed with the quality. I already enjoy some of Frontier's spices so I decided to splurge and buy this 1 lb bag. OMG. It's the size of a small pillow. I almost felt silly when I saw it and couldn't help but think that I may have to cook with bay leaves everyday to justify buying in bulk.The quality did not disappoint though. Yes, there are a few broken and grungy leaves but for the most part, the majority of the leaves are whole and clean. The aroma is beautiful and beats the quality of the ones you get at a local market. Since there's enough to last me two lifetimes, I filled some sandwich bags with the leaves and shared them with family and friends (approx 24) and I still have half a "pillow" left. All in all, I'm very happy with this purchase.

I recently saw an article about how burning Bay leaves in your house creates an energetic vibe, and wanted to give it a try. Because Bay leaves are fairly expensive in the store, where a small jar containing only about 10 leaves can cost about $5, I thought it made sense to get a larger quantity. When this bag arrived at my house, I was shocked at the size - it's about a 14 x 20 bag!Pros :- when you open the bag it smells AMAZING!- you get a huge amount for the price- they are Bay leavedCons:- unless you are the Soup Nazi, it will take you forever to use all these Bay leaves-the bag doesn't have a zip seal which would be great to help keep the enormous unused portion fresher.This would be great to share amongst a group, it's a TON of Bay leaves! I will probably not need any more for the rest of my life. Great deal though!
