Can be used on other stands
I purchased this because of the price. I don't use the stand it came with. I put it on an adjustable mic stand that clamps on to my desk. It took a little adjusting and playing around to get it to work with the mic I have. It works decently enough to block sounds as long as you pair it with some mic filters.

Don’t buy
Do not buy… it’ll break since it’s not made of study material that could hold your genuine microphone and protects it. It’ll break and hit you. I had to return mine entirely broken. The noise cancellation is only three Raws instead of 5 or six. Add $40 more and buy a better one. Thank me later

Great at stopping reflections from computer monitor
I do voiceover work and while my studio is completely treated for stopping reflections, my new 49" curved monitor acts like a satellite dish, bouncing my own voice right back in concentrated form, aimed directly at my mic.I'd say this took care of about 70% of that, which is all I needed it for. If you are in a room with absolutely no other sound treatment, I can't say you'll have the same luck. There's no substitute for good sound treatment in a room and every room is different.I expect this to work well to isolate outside sounds when I'm mic'ing an instrument for recording.

Size of a small book
The picture make it seem so much bigger. It is the size of a kid book. Doesn't do good canceling out sounds. Wasn't worth the money

Stability
Had issues keeping the stand upright with the foam wall attachment. Slightest move and it would fall. It's hard to properly position the mic from the foam without making it unevenly distribute weight. Returned to item and would recommend one of those foam balls with the pop filter built in. Sure this item here would still be great in certain setups though
