Great for light duty trucks
It was super easy install and works well, instead of spinning out from the rear of the truck being light it locks and seems to put down power pretty evenly between the two tires.

Great bang for buck
Replaced the open diff on my 97 Cougar with this in 2021, and I’m writing this 3 years and about 15k miles later. Besides the car itself, this is possibly the best purchase I’ve ever made. No more one wheel peels, one tire fires, whatever ya wanna call it. Now it has better grip and gets sideways when I want it to.I used the Yukon friction modifier with Valvoline brand diff fluid and it’s super quiet. Sometimes I hear a little chirp, but over the sound of the engine it’s barely perceptible.I have been pretty hard on the car since installing this, and it has held up fantastic. I’ve done plenty of smoky burnouts, donuts and drifting (mainly on wet pavement because car is kinda slow), and I haven’t had any issues. My only regret is not having the shop install 3.73 gears while they were in there. Finding a shop to install it was a bit of a hassle; it would have been smart to make the appointment before ordering. But all is well now.Smoke ‘em if you got em 🤙🏻

so far so good, still good update!
Updated at bottom..I didn't just randomly decide to upgrade...this was more a question of what to replace existing yet failing parts with.My 2000 dodge 1500 4x4 was making noises I didn't like... we popped the rear pumpkin and discovered the issue after noticing HUGE driveline rotational play. My differential spiders were definitely on the way out fast...and apparently decided to wallow out the carrier at the same time.Ok I need to get the best value for money spent....would prefer easy to install and while I can accept a higher noise level I would rather not most times. Yet if I could up the off road performance a bit that would be nice.So their went the lockers... more expensive more noise....The cost difference between a replacement carrier and spider assembly and a LSD wasn't that much. The cost of a lunchbox locker and carrier made that and the mini spool and carrier fall off the table as well as sound and on road issues.SoI chose this... as my ring and pinion were just fine.... we set the lash at 0.0055" play and lubed up the rear end with 80-90 conventional as required by yukon and the LSD additive.Over an open differential it's a big step up. Over a failing open differential it's a huge step up.Now my DD/hunting/fishing rig is more capable and for roughly $60 more than replacing the entire dif with an open one I got added traction. Thanks yukon.Approx 1 week laterStill happy with it.... it makes a big difference in offroad and on road handling.Yes it opens when not under load but if hard cornering with heavy throttle on a slippery surface (hard packed dirt road....sandy tarmac) expect both rear wheels to break loose and a drift or powerslide to start. Not a bad thing and definitely improves throttle steering but it does change the handling and you should be aware of it. I do realize I drive harder and more confidently than many people especially offroad... and that most folks are just happy to get there they don't need to have fun while getting there quickly....but I do.

**1YEAR UPDATE**If you have a 9 1/4 rear...buy this!!
**update below the original review**I put a lock right locker on my 2nd gen ram, twice. They were setup correctly both times, but they just don't hold up on a 4x4 that does any kind of off roading..I installed this Yukon posi trac unit, and all I can say is its f-ing bad ass. No noise and all the traction that you need! I Can drive around on the sand dunes and the beach in 2 wheel drive! If you want a reliable unit, buy this. Don't even screw around with anything else and waste your money.**Update**This thing is amazing. I hardly ever use my steering wheel anymore🤣I just power slide through turns! But seriously, buy one, you will not regret it. I just serviced the diff, and found no abnormal wear or materials.

So far it work as described.
I have an old '73 Chevy 4x4 1 ton pickup that I have had for over 40 years....well I am the second owner. It was not given posi from the factory but it was satisfactory for most weather conditions. I finally decided, because of terrain changes were I live, to install posi. This unit makes all the difference in the world. No more right tire spinning trying to go up a steep incline from a dead stop. And better traction in snow conditions. It is well worth the investment.
