Practical advice that helped every mile of our road trip

it contains a lot of useful information but just having driven the entire range of mountains from ny state to the end of the smokies i found the book somewhat useful. anyone who intends to do this trip should also have full size fold out state dot maps for each state. having those enabled a better understanding of distances, times and off-primary road locations. for this trip full size maps and not atlas' work best. but for locations on the mountain trip itself it is useful.
