I did not really care for this book. I liked it at times. I did not like it at times.

Dear, Mr . Soyinka my name is Tyree Mckissett I am 17 years old, I am a male I'm African American and I live here in Baltimore , Maryland. My overall impression of your book is you definitely did an amazing job personifying the two sides of the major social and political issue in Africa during this time. Some cultural themes that stood out to me were the conflict of the different cultures within the villages. The old village culture represented by (Baroka) had conflicts with the new culture represented by (Lakunle). Well here in Maryland there are some social and political issues as well especially in today's society with electing presidents and the different social groups. What was different to me was the way marriage happened around this time it was totally different then how it happened here around that time. Overall this was a very nice book, it was a pleasure going into the life and cultures of the individuals in this book!- Tyree Mckissett

Humorous play, highly recommend.

Ganz tolles Theaterstück. Sehr angenehm zu lesen ( und ist auch nicht so lang, für alle die wie ich nicht so gerne in dramenform lesen). Ein Must-read für alle die an afrikanischer Kultur und dem Kampf zwischen Tradition und Fortschritt interessiert sind. Hat mir sehr viel Freude bereitet
