My eyesight isn't bad, but the markings on these steel rulers is not the best.Nice selection, and otherwise great for what I need.For measuring I'll probably have to splash out for something else, but what I have is fine for cutting. Corners are a little sharp, so they don't slide across a paper particularly well, but maybe it's a good thing in some respects, as using them for a guide for cutting they might just hold their position a little better.Four stars. Small improvements could be made.

I actually cut some of these up into small pieces so that I could take measurements while working on a car frame. There were tight areas that made the usual household measuring tools hard to use, but these are so cheap I just cut them up and used them that way. I agree with other reviewers that the biggest improvement would be to put the metric side on the OPPOSITE side when you flip the ruler over.

I bought this set to share with my husband. We each have a small, medium and large ruler. We really like that the measurement starts right at the edge, we feel that's an important feature. Each ruler has its own plastic sleeve to slide it into, which is important because...Be very careful because the edges are very sharp - at least they were on the set we got. So much so that my husband used his hand file to dull the edges on all sides. And we are not sissies! It was just more practical to take the time to dull the edges than to have to be super careful.I would not recommend these for children until they are old enough to really understand how careful you need to be with these.The price was reasonable: $13.99 for two 6", two 12" and two 16". Aside from the sharp edges, these rulers are a good set.

Rulers are made of good material and all of them have at least one really good straight edge. The markings are easy to read and accurate. They feel sturdy and don't bend too much. They are really well packed into separate plastic sleeves.The issue with them is calibration. They show two factory calibration steps: cutting at zero short edge and smoothing of one of the long edges. Half of my rulers were too long (more than 0.01mm) and will need to be filed. All but one of my rulers had a slightly rounded corner on their calibrated edge, leaving only one side usable.That being said, zero mark calibration can be easily done with a file leaving one straight edge accurate for measurement and straight with both metric and imperial markings on each side. Couldn't ask for more at this price point.

Easy to read and super value

One can never have too many rulers and straight edges in the shop. These had a great price, so thought I'd see how they were. Good weight and stiffness. Numbers are quite bold easy to read. Three lengths so your don't have to draw a short line with a yard stick. Two each, so I can have one set in my shop and another in my tinker shed out back. Come in a plastic sleeve and can hang right where you need them.
