We've had a lot of fun with this toy and the grandkids. Easy and intuitive to use.

frustrating fun
I'm not sure why everybody' fell in love with this device. I couldn't perform any of the tricks or even the basics like everybody else was as soon as I turn mine on it's right at the wall are any objects you didn't want it to I mean this thing was all over the place. I don't know where they get the idea that this thing hovers magically in your hand. Basically what this thing is is a little ball with two fans in it or propellers. It also contains very very bright LED's which is a good thing because when this thing crash lands somewhere at least you'll be able to find it. Finding it isn't that hard those two propellers at full speed it's really loud. Well it didn't keep my interest but my cats enjoyed it. They enjoy chasing it I then lost interest in it when it crashed because it was so loud it freaks them out. I found it hard to believe that this simulated any type of boomerang. I practiced it for weeks only to discover it is more like a comet that just goes flying through smashing into everything and then burns itself out when the tinybattery dies. It's great fun but I don't see any 8-9 or 10 year old kids having their interest peaked for very long. Perhaps they enjoy making things crash. and who doesn't? I still think it would make a great gift watching others get frustrated with this. Have not figured out if this is defective or not so I won't give it a bad review maybe it's just me that can't figure this one out.

Amazingly fun for all ages
It's a bit of a challenge to learn how to control the flight of this but that's half the fun. It's particularly satisfying when you learn how to throw it so that it comes right back to you. We would get this out on every family or friend gathering and everyone loved it.It only flies for about 10 minutes before losing battery, but that's reasonable given how small and light it is. Starting takes 30 to 60 minutes. This was quite powerful and flew well but after a while, the LED strip so loose and wrapped around the base of the propeller. I had to snip it off and it is never sewn as well since. But we loved it while it lasted.

It does what it wants, not the tricks intended.
I’m not sure if I just got a defective one as many of the reviews said that it worked great and was a lot of fun. The tricks really don’t work. It just goes where it wants to. We used it outside to not hit anything in the house. When hovering, the orb wanted to fly away and then fall to the ground.it didn’t stay hovering for long before falling. The stickers were difficult to put on. It appears to be made well as it hasn’t broken yet even though it has fallen multiple times. For $25 we expected the tricks to work as advertised.

Flying Orb
This is really fun but can be dangerous at the same time. My kids love playing with this, but they try to play with it inside and have come close to crashing it into pictures and decorations. At the same time playing outside they try to whip it out far and sometimes don't know what direction it wants to fly and it can take off into the neighbors yard. But when it works and hovers and you throw it and it comes back to you or to throw it to another person it's really cool.

Whole Lotta Fun To Be Had!!!
The media could not be loaded. The drone ball comes pre-charged, so you can get a feel on what to do. Reading the instructions is somewhat helpful, but you just have to ‘Do It’ in order to get the hang of playing with the ball. The ball can be played with inside or outside, and it FLIES! It does come with some stickers and an attachment of some sort, but I didn’t use any of those things. My 5 and 7 year old enjoyed playing with this and it is very safe, although I would be cautious of long hair and getting it too close. We didn’t have that issue, but I’m sure someone will have reported it as some point.Charging the ball uses a Type C USB, which I love, because the chances of breaking off the connector piece is very slim. Once charged, then you press and hold the power button and you see the lights! Once it is lit up, then give your wrist a flick and it comes to life. Tossing it back and forth takes some practice, but after a while it gets to be very fun. Playing solo is kind of difficult, but after awhile you can hover the ball in your palm. This thing will FLY, so be careful how far you toss it. In addition, it will hit the ground and take off like a fast car, so be prepared to chase it down. It will shut itself off though, once it hits something hard. If you grab the ball too tightly, then you will hear the blades hitting the side, but so far it hasn’t caused any issues.Overall impression, love this little guy!

Fun!
This is pretty fun once you get the hang of it.... but as others have said, the instructions aren't the best and it definitely isn't a boomerang.

Not a boomerang but a lot of fun
I am not sure why this hover ball is described as a boomerang. It doesn't function in that way at all. Also, the instructions make no sense and sometimes directly contradict each other. My eight-year-old son was disappointed in this toy initially, but after he stopped believing it was a boomerang and figured out how to play with it, he has been having so much fun. It flies fast and lights up, and it has held up to lots of crashes and rough play. This is a great toy!
