This is a great anatomical model of the female urogenital system (sectioned along the mid-line). The model is heavy for its size and feels very durable. The main portion of the model is attached to a sturdy white base that can be mounted on a wall or just laid flat viewing/study. The model is highly detailed and the colors make it easy to distinguish different structures. The main blood supply to and from the pelvis is indicated and the right ovary and Fallopian tube are shown as well as their supporting ligaments. The other internal reproductive and urinary structures along with the external genitalia + portions of the digestive system are shown in section. The second, detachable part of the model gives an appreciation of the relationship between the various organs in 3D. It is held in place by magnets. Also shown is the supportive musculature and parts of the lumbar, sacral & coccygeal regions of the vertebral column + the pubic symphysis. Best of all, the main features of the model are numbered and there is a corresponding key. So many models don't offer this and it can be surprisingly challenging to try to match all of the features with a picture in a textbook or online. The model is packaged with a picture of the actual model (not just a diagram that may or may not look similar) and a separate page with a list of terms matching the numbers on the model. This makes it so much easier to learn (practice with the diagram and double-check with the list). The current price of $69.99 is very reasonable for this informative and well-made model. It would be great for students as well as in a lab or professional office.

Modern models tend to be cheaper looking than the old ones, but this one looks great and I'm well pleased with it. Anatomical parts are either hand numbered, or perhaps just have that look, which makes them look like the antique models, an aesthetically pleasant touch.This model uses magnets to show an exterior/cross section of the female reproductive organs, so you get two different views. The magnetic variations are a modern improvement I love (older models used a friction fit or pins, both less reliable). I'd say this is about half scale, large enough to show great detail. It's very nice looking, something you would see in a doc's office. It's mounted on a plastic placard, so you can hang it on the wall. I personally would have preferred a freestanding model, but that's personal preference and the listing was clear about the mounting, so I can't knock it for that. It comes with a key to the numbered parts (shown in the listing), a glossy paper printout. For display, you might frame and mount the legend next to the model, as I will likely do. If you're just using it for educational purposes, you might laminate it and attach it to the back of the model.

This is a beautiful hard plastic anatomy display.There are two small non-obtrusive magnets that hold the cutaway on top or slid to the side.The white display makes it easy to hold and reference during video conference calls, and to hang when not in use.It is really a great reference tool for doulas, midwives or anyone in the medical community. With cyber schooling, the materials matter. This pelvis model is good enough for college-level classes, but provides a three dimensional view to fascinate grade-school children. One of the two magnets that hold the front plate on was not well glued, but it’s something a small bit of super glue fixed. It comes with a coated print illustrated color identification sheet and a lower quality black and white key for the numbers on the model itself. An upgrade would be laminated sheets, but the model is good enough to warrant five stars on its own. The metric scale in the photo is not included.
