Deadbolt Guard Door Lock Security - Magnet Version (White/Satin Nickel)

This compact device was just slightly too small for my oversized lock. I notified the seller, thinking I'd have to return it. Instead, the seller offered to send me another, slighter larger one. Very impressed by the wonderful customer service that was provided.I am a night owl, and I live in a multi-apt building. I use this device as a precaution, in case an early morning maintenance worker inadvertently mistook my apt for another. So, it's for extra security when I sleep. It's so simple to place on my door, and I take it off first thing when I get up. I have to give this amazing device a perfect 5 stars! I'm very pleased.

I'm very impressed with this item. It's simple and easy to use. Looks good and does what it claims. On a metal door, it sticks to the door when not in use and this helps remind me to use it- rather than sitting it to the side or something. There's a magnet included in case it doesn't stick to your lock but you could also use this magnet to get it to stick to a non-metal door for storage when not in use (assuming it already sticks to your lock). It does what it says- prevents the deadbolt from turning so even someone with a key won't be getting in. While I know it's marketed for use while you're home (and that's a great use), I got this to secure a back door both when I'm home and away. You likely use one main entrance for your home so go ahead and secure the back or side doors with a little extra protection- as many break ins are going to be at those side and back doors- away from the street or main entrance. I've seen some other products that would be as effective for a bit less cost- but you have to install on the door frame. This item requires no installation and can even be taken along when you're traveling.

This LOKmate Deadbolt Guard provides extra security and safety. It is magnetic and can easily be removed from inside, but when it is in place, if the deadbolt should every be picked, it's never going to turn. It sure give me an added level of security.

Simple, inexpensive idea to prevent lock bumping! The handle that goes up and down could have been metal instead of plastic.Update:I got an explanation from the seller why they used plastic instead of metal. Plastic doesn't scratch the door hardware easily. I take that and change my view of this product. It still works.

I drive a semi for work and stay at various different hotels and was really excited when my wife got me this. I had an incident at a hotel where someone tried to get in my room but I put furniture against the door and that stopped them from getting in. But anyway was excited I wouldn’t have to put furniture against a door anymore and the lock doesn’t even fit in or around the deadbolt, the latch of the door didn’t fit so it was back to moving furniture against the door.

So I bought this when I moved into a new apartment that did not have chains installed on the doors and I wanted a little extra protection without having to install anything. I bought two of these for two doors, one opens in and one opens out. For the open-in door this product works flawlessly exactly as it's made.For my open-out door, this took a little more thought. I have a door jamb that sticks out that makes it impossible to put the LOKmate flap into the crack in the door. It still works but in a different way. (If your open-out door is flush to the wall or you can see the crack in the door then you can use the LOKmate in the regular way). You have to fold in the little flap so it's completely flat and then place it on the deadbolt so that the "long part" of the LOKmate with the folded flap is facing down if the lock opens counterclockwise or up if the lock opens clockwise (or the opposite if your deadbolt is on the left side of the inside door - mine is on the right). And remove, rotate, and replace the octagon accordingly for your deadbolt. That way a key-holding or lock-picking intruder would not be able to turn the deadbolt completely before the "long part" of the LOKmate hits the door jamb.

I liked this product. It was easy to place on the door lock each night. I felt with the magnets it wouldn't fall off the lock if the door was jiggled. The magnets were also helpful to hang it from a metal coat hook during the day when it was not needed. After using nightly for about a month the magnets have pulled out and are stuck to the lock. I can still use the guard but its disappointing that the magnets have some loose.

I don’t have the most secure door and this gives me a sense of security. The place I live does monthly apartment checks. They say it’s to spray for bugs but adds if they find the apartment not up to their standards everyone that doesn’t pass will get a warning and then an eviction. Anyway they came on a day without notice and tried to get in with their key. This lock was on the door and prevented them from getting in. I was able to see the lock at work!!

It's fantastic. I bought this long ago but never reviewed.It fits right on my front door lock and several times someone with a master key has tried to get in and couldn't.The only criticism is the screws are very tiny, difficult to put on, and one fell off so I used a strip of thin metal wire to hold it in place.Will buy this again with no hesitation when I need a new one.

I thought it was really thought out well made..but measure your lock first ..it was to small for my door other than that a great security piece

My package came in the cheapest looking box and printed instructions, also the plastic finishing of the LOKMATE is quite badly done - a tad annoyed I paid $27 for this. Another point to note (not the fault of the product) is the thickness of the LOKMATE which didn’t fit my lock as my turn knob is jutting out quite a lot. So at the magnetised position, the LOKMATE falls BELOW the lock and the door can be unlocked freely which defeats the purpose of having this in the first place. The bottom part of your turn knob have to be less than 1cm thick than the touch point of the magnet.

Fits like a glove and now have that added peace of mind with this additional security.

Works well after few tries. Should come with better instructions. One of the screws came loose and fell, but luckily it went back to place and stayed there. Overall smart product!
