N ot the Best
The first one did not work, only printing on half the page, so back it went. Replacment arrived a few weeks later and seems to work. However if you are thinking about this printer my experince are:--Teribly slow, at least 10 times slower than the OKI it replaced.-When prining multi pages, the paper coming out pushes the printed stock over the top of the printer, so its all out of order or missing pages?-Print quality is OK, but that's all.

Cracking printer for the money
I bought this printer a few years ago now and it's never let me down. IMO print quality is first class and compares well against many much more expensive printers.Print speed is pretty average by todeays standards but that does not mean it's slow. If you send graphic heavy documents to it yes it will be slower (as will most printers with only 128Mb of RAM. Purchasing more memory would help and that will be the same with most laser printers on the market. The other reviewer of the product states that when prining multi pages, the paper coming out pushes the printed stock over the top of the printer?? I beliueve he may have missed the small slider at the top that extends and lifts to prevent the paper from falling over the top of the printer!I've only had a good experience with the printer in my years of using the device. It's perhaps not quite a 5 star performer but more than worth the money being asked.

Excellent printer, but toners are pricey
This is an excellent printer with high quality output, we use it mostly for text but colour logos and pictures in newsletters are all pinsharp with true colour. It's quiet, the duplexing facility works well, and the toner cartridges are accessible and easy to replace. We had one of these printers for 18 months but ruined it by putting a sheet with a loose label through it. We should have foreseen that the label would peel off, stick to and then (with the heat) fuse permanently inside the machine... Still, no hesitation in buying the same printer, but not at the £500+ it's advertised at now! At the time (11Feb13) it was offered at £147.60 by Amazon, £50 less than we'd paid for our first one, and surprising as the supplier (Printerbase) were advertising it on their own website at £148+VAT. Printerbase had supplied our first one and we knew they provide free next day delivery. So we bought at an amazing price, with excellent service from Printerbase. The printer comes complete with 4 toners - black 2500pp, and the 3 colours (magenta, cyan & yellow) 2000pp. Now the bad news - the replacement cost of the yellow toner is currently £69 and the others are similar, so you are looking at over £250 to replace the toners. It is actually cheaper (but not very green) to buy a complete new printer rather than a replacement set of toners! Barmy. We buy the extra high yield toners (6000pp black, 4000pp colour) but at £400+ a set they are rather pricey too.
