Perfect diameter and length for my chair spring application but got to figure out how to install.
I still have the problem of installation, and I guess I'll have to do some more research to find out how to do that. I see spring compressors, but that is the opposite of what I need and mostly for auto springs. I see online two kinds of expanders, the one for small springs for washing machines won't work, but these puller hooks made for replacing things like trampoline springs probably would. I need to pull it apart about an inch to install on the chair spring I'm replacing, so I'll see about ordering that. This is a high-quality spring and has really strong tension. It the length and strength meet your application, it's a strong recommend.

Works just as intended.
Pretty straight forward and easy replacement. The original was rusted and would make a horrible squeak when used so I'm glad we got this shinny quiet replacement!
