I'm not sure where I saw this Shadow Dash Cam first advertised - it certainly doesn't jump to the top of the list on Amazon when searching for Dash Cam's, that's for sure. But maybe it was the other reviewer on here, or something else, but I was drawn to it because it seemed to stand out from the rest of the "under $40" dash cams I was looking at. I did some research on it and it seemed like it had good reviews, at least overseas, on the quality - daytime is crystal clear, and nighttime is pretty clear too - just a little bit grainy, but not too bad. License plates directly in front of my Jeep can be made out as long as my headlights are not shining directly on the plates (depends on the car in front of me), but it's very easy to make out vehicle details such as make, model, color, etc. There are a good amount of features on the camera - one thing I do like, and at the same time the one feature that I wish was better integrated into the camera, is the zoom feature - my windshield sits a bit back on the top of my jeep, so it's nice to zoom in a bit so I'm not getting a view of my hood and A-piller. However, the zoom level resets each time the camera is power cycled, so unless I remember to re-zoom, well...you get the point. The other functions do stick though. The camera also had no problem reading a troublesome 32gb sandisk SDcard I was about to throw away that my previous cheapy walmart dashcam couldn't read (or my old phone), but this dash cam had no problem reading it.All in all, I'm very happy with this camera. Not to mention the other capabilities it has - this model comes form Amazon with the standard cigarette lighter power connector, but you can get an ODB connector that hooks directly up to your car and gives you additional car diagnostic info. You cal also buy some tire pressure monitoring valve stem caps and it will tell you your tire pressure, and there is even a GPS add on which will tell you how fast you are driving and allow you to map your routes with video and google maps side by side. I don't need all that, and those items/functionality are additional costs. It comes with both a suction cup mount as well as a smaller adhesive sticky mount, and the power up / power down chime is kinda soothing as well (you have to have the "button beep" function turned on to hear this. I'm very happy with this purchase.Note: The one photo image I included where the camera is on - the picture looks distorted because my windshield had a bunch of rain covering it while sitting in a parking lot.

This was just an amazing bny but when the screen went white? I was livid. It's not like it's the easiest to navigate, but the SCREEN of all things making it a hood ornament? Wish I could return this POS.

When you first power on everything is in Chinese. But I had my share of different dash cams so I know how the option logos look like and it took me a good 15 min to change it to English. And I have to say this is above all the best dash cam I ever had. I will be buying more of these for all my cars.

Stopped working within less than a month

There was really nothing I didn't like about this dash cam. After messing around with it for a few minutes, I figured out how to operate it. Picture is excellent in 1080p and being able to insert a micro SD card is good.Overall this is a good dash cam for anyone.

I am happy this came with a suction cup mount and was easy to install. I put it in my work vehicle as insurance if I am in a work related accident.
