Guardian: A Scifi Alien Romance (Galactic Gladiators Book 9)

Guardian is book nine in the Galactic Gladiators series by Anna Hackett.This series keeps giving me something new to fall love with. We are kept on our toes and surprised with new and interesting events.We catch up with Dayna who underwent a truly awful captivity at the hands of a desert witch and she’s left struggling to understand how to live with this creature inside herself. She is not the only one with a creature inside and Rillian, the casino owner, vows to teach Dayna how to feed safely and live with this new reality.Dayna is one who is not used to not being in control. She’s tenacious and stubborn, but will she learn to control this new thing insider herself?Rillian is powerful, rich, sexy and has a dark side that no one knows about. With Dayna in his life his control will be tested!Dayna and Rillian grow to trust each other and eventually fall in love. The symbionts connected them and brought a new element to the story. I will say the symbiont reminded me of Star Gate.Most of the story takes place in Rillian’s casino, so we don’t get to see much of the plant, but we do get to see how the casino runs. We also get to see previous characters play parts in this story and we are getting hints as to who is hooking up. They’re where surprise and twists along the way and we also get to see the birth of a baby from one of our couples.I can never get enough of the Galactic Gladiators series. It’s full of interesting characters, strong humans, and action that takes you away. Guardian was another enjoyable read.Rated: 4 Stars

Rescued from alien slavers, former cop Dayna is now host to an alien symbiont. The only man who can help her understand and control the symbiont is the mysterious casino owner, Rillian.Finally we get the mysterious RIllian’s book! This book was a fast paced adventure with great romance and characters. I just love how this world continues to develop and expand with each book we get. Rillian has been mysterious since he was introduced and we finally get his history, which is heartbreaking. Having Dayna around makes him realize how alone he truly has been and how he doesn’t want to go back to that. Dayna was the perfect woman for Rillian because she shook up his life and never let him push her away.Dayna is a strong, passionate, and capable woman. As a former homicide detective she knows how to protect herself and now having the symbiont just makes her stronger. She has a strong need to protect others which is why she struggles with feeding her symbiont. She doesn’t want to hurt anyone and fears she will not be able to control it. Dayna was just the perfect woman to break through Rillian’s icy exterior and he was the perfect man for her protective and assertive nature.This series is coming to a close, which I am both excited and sad about. I can’t wait to see them find all the humans and close Zaabah but I don’t want to lose this amazing world and characters.

Galactic Gladiators has a refreshing addition in this book about sexy, mega rich, and lethal Dark Nebula Casino owner Rillian and Dayna- the rescued human who is fighting to regain some semblance of normalcy after being abducted and then captured by a vicious alien witch. The challenges they face are similar yet refreshingly different from the rest of the books in this series. Anna Hackett does an amazing job with descriptions of action-packed scenes, thinks of wild, unique, and utterly believable alien situations and creatures, and she just rocks when it comes to writing each character as unique and 3-dimensional. The sparks that fly between Rillian and Dayna are mega-ton bomb explosive - the intimate scenes are over the top (18+ ONLY- no joke!)). A note on the Audible audio version: Vivienne Leheny does an AMAZING job on this book- I swear I was transported right to the Dark Nebula Casino while listening. You will not be disappointed when you choose Guardian as your next read!

As always, Anna Hackett does a wonderful job writing an action packed romance. Guardian was an enjoyable, fast paced read with a sexy romance and wonderful characters. From the beginning, the House of Galen has been on a mission to stop the evil Thraxians and their forced fighting arena. Through this endeavor they've picked up other allies like Rillian who want to stop what's going on; I love the gladiators but it's also nice to see some other people from Carthago. Rillian has been mysterious from the first time we met him and his dark, smoldering ways have left me wondering. Now that we have his story, is was so heartbreaking to learn about Rillian's past and realize how alone he has been in the world. Having Dayna come along really shook up Rillian's life but it was exactly what he needed.Strong, compassionate, and fiery, Dayna was the perfect woman for Rillian. She calls him on his moods, never puts up with his arrogance, and has no problem going toe to toe with him. I loved her fire and determination even when she was struggling to accept the changes her symbiont had wrought on her body and soul. Having a symbiont of his own, Rillian understands what Dayna is going through and wants to help in any way he can. Dayna's resistance to feeding her symbiont says a lot about her honor and morals; she's more worried about hurting another person then having relief from her pain and hunger.I know this series is probably closing in on it's ending and I'll be sad when that happens. Until that time, I'll continue to enjoy this desert planet, it's strong gladiators, and the humans who now call it home.Content Note: references to past captivity and abuse

Oh Anna, you’ve done it again! Beautifully written with plenty of action in and out of the bedroom. As usual with all your books I fell a little bit in love with the hero, Rillian. I loved how Dayna pushed him in the right direction and how she learnt to accept her symbiont, and use it to kick alien butt. Definitely didn’t see the whole Sam and Galen bit, I mean we guessed they’d be paired up, but with an entrance like that I suspect Galen’s in for a tough time! And the whole Magnus and Ever thing.....definitely did not see that little twist!!

This is the latest edition to this series and for me is the hottest so far.Dayna has been rescued but has a long road ahead to learn to control and live with a symbiot. That's where Rillian come In, what he doesn't expect is to fall hard and fast.Howeve as usual the bad guys are a close and killing people who were close to Rillian at some point.Expect sexual tension and the birth of a human/alien not one to be missed

Another great story,love this series,can't wait for the next book.would recommend this series to anyone who likes a good read.

Nine books in and this series is still going from strength to strength. I can't wait for the next instalment in April.
