This shifter feels great in the hand and is solid, made of what I'm assuming is 100% aluminum or some full metal alloy, this thing will last. The surface is smooth and has a nice finish that is easily wipable (no hard to get to grooves or micropores).I got this thing to work with my TH8A shifter, however there are some steps. The TH8A shifter does not come in a standard M8 or M10 thread (I believe it is a M9 thread), so to get this thing to fit, I took the plastic M8 adapter thread, slowly and carefully adding a new thread onto it by slowly screwing onto the top of the shifter pole.As of now, it feels solid, but since the adapter is plastic, I can't tell you how long it will last, but if I end up getting a new adapter for the TH8A, then this shifter knob will still be solid.I feel I should note this, but the carbon fiber is just print on top of the metal, so if you're looking for a real carbon fiber film this is not it, however, the print/design looks amazing and super racer/cool.I also should note that this thing is longer than the average shift knob, being about 3.7" tall (the height of the item itself, the shifter pole screws into the shifter about an inch), so the shifting feel will be different if you use a standard knob, which might be what some people are looking for.The only con I could think of is the fact that they use plastic adapters instead of copper, but I was looking for plastic adapters so I can thread them on my TH8A, so that was a plus for me. But if you know your shift pole fits the adapters, I would look to pick up some additional copper adapters as I can't tell you how long a plastic adapter would last, and its important for safety if you're using this in a real car.

So, the install pictures on the listing actually show a different shifter, but I figured they would be able to install the same way.I have a VW Mk5. It is a smooth shank, no threads. So a compression type fitting is necessary, as is shown in the install pic.But this knob only has screw type adapters. It must be used with a screw on post.Which to me means also... that the Amazon fit check is wrong, as this will NOT be able to be installed on almost any VW's.Very sad.

Just get some carbon fiber accessories like this, and you're good to go!In all seriousness, this is a pretty decent buy for $12. I'll be putting this in my 1975 Camaro once I get it built, so this will just be a quick overview of the quality for the time being:It's cheap. Don't be expecting carbon fiber, or even aluminum. The included screw thread adapters appear to be a low-quality plastic. But you'll get what you pay for - if you want a better thread adapter, you should buy some with the money you saved by buying this in the first place.You're looking at this product (and, clearly, this review) because you want a cheap fake carbon fiber gear selector. I say go for it; what do you have to lose?

I ordered this to dress up my interior of my car, and love the carbon fiber look. This zipelo shift knob comes with adapters for different shifters, and was very quick to put on. It looks great in my car, and works quite well. I wasn't sure how I would like the stick vs. my old shift knob, but it's functional and looks great at the same time.Overall, this zipelo carbon fiber shift knob is high quality and I definitely recommend it to others.

I had to use one of the adapters that came with the knob, but once I got the adapter on the rod then screwing on the knob was easy. It looks great, a definite upgrade from the stock knob.

It is a nice looking and feeling handle. It come with 3 different sizes of threads it can be put on to. Not much to say about it. But, it is nice looking.
