I was a little surprised at the price for this AL QAYIM Handcrafted Brass Kaleidoscope. I was expecting a lot more at this price point. The kaleidoscope comes packaged in a shrink wrapped black gift box with a red bow. Inside there are no brand indications, instructions, or information about who made this. True to the description, many parts of this kaleidoscope are made from brass. There are two wheels with colored pieces of glass which both rotate to help create the kaleidoscope effect. Unfortunately, the glass designs are very basic and look cheap. The effect is not dazzling when you look through the kaleidoscope at all, it looks pretty awful. One of the great things about a kaleidoscope is the way it can transport you visually to a space of color and pattern. This one just doesn't do that, and at the price point, it's an absolute head scratcher at why such poor level of glass was used.

The build quality is nice except for the glass you're looking through. Not sure what justifies the high price tag though.
