, it's a great product nice and easy to use when slicing cheese however it only comes with one wire. I've just snapped mine does anyone know where I can find a replacement

Before getting this my wife and I did what most of us probably do with cheddar-type cheese - we used a knife, generally with poor results. We ended up with unevenly cut slices or chunks. We'd generally overcompensate by putting too many chunks in our sandwiches, thus spending more on cheese which isn't cheap and adding to the calorie count. One of us has discomfort in the hand due to carpel tunnel syndrome and arthritis and exerting the force you need to cut cheddar type cheese with a knife produces pain and discomfort. Everyone's symptoms will be different no doubt, but using this utensil requires a lot less pressure to be exerted by the hand and it's therefore a lot more comfortable to use than a knife.With this item you get a reasonably consistent slice of cheese every time with two thicknesses to choose from. You need to develop a bit of simple technique, cutting across the top of the cheese block while laying it flat, or alternatively tilting it. This avoids the side that you're cutting being in contact with the surface the cheese is resting on which would otherwise prevent the cutter slicing neatly the whole way across. You quickly get the knack. There are also crumbly cheeses that it won't produce perfect results with, so with these it's back to the knife method.After many uses the wire starts to go a bit slack. No problem, there's a twist mechanism at the top of the utensil which tightens it up so no hassle. We've had ours now for quite a few weeks and used it probably every other day with no signs of the wire snapping as reported by some reviewers. But just in case we did order some spare wires.The item is also dishwasher proof and looks like it will last for years.It won't do all cheeses, but for what it's designed to do it really is better than using a knife.

Seems well made and works very efficiently. The ability to cut 2 thicknesses is very useful. The kids find it very easy to use so they no longer end up with inch thick cheese bricks on their toast,

The design of this slicer is so elegant, it uses way less space in your drawer than a traditional slicer. The only issue is that WMF seem to be somewhat useless at selling replacement wires for them, as eventually (likely after quite a few years) you will find that the original wire will break.I've purchased some extra wires from a brand called Osti which are just the right length for this slicer. Search for the product "B0093NYA6U" on Amazon.

Awesome cutting power

This allows you to select two different thicknesses for your cheese. Only issue I have is that I still have not perfected how to cut all the way to the end of the cheese, as you need to pass through the cheese which is normally resting on a surface.

I really, really like this product and it works wonderfully well. It was my fault - I had not put enough tension on the cutting wires which are tensioned with a screw. I decided to give it another try and am really really delighted with the product.

I had a cheese slice which I loved to use: practical and exactly the right design for the job. Unfortunately, the handle was made of plastic so, every year or so, it broke and I needed to replace it.Enter this metal-handled version. Very similar in design function to the plastic one, except made of metal. Which of course means it's far more sturdy.Simple, effective design and manufacture. What a treat!

Best of breed! Simple and sturdy. Makes long even slices with ease on firm cheeses like cheddar. Not for very hard cheese like Parmesan or Romano. If you do break the wire, replacements are readily available and are easy to swap out! Absolutely essential for any cheese lovers! Highest quality and highly recommended!

Sehr guter Käseschneider mit Edelstahldraht.Hartkäse am Stück lässt sich einfach und problemlos in Scheiben schneiden. Gut zu reinigen.Tut sehr gut, was er tun soll!!!

Bon outil pour faire des tranches de fromage. Durable sauf si on force trop...

Es muy cómodo, fácil de utilizar, hay recambios por si se rompe el hilo de acero. No va bien con los quesos muy secos y duros
