Some folks in the reviews have never replaced a gasket and it shows…🥹On another note, after two years of heavy abuse, multiple expresso shots per day between myself and my wife, the portafilter gasket failed. I’d say at least 750-1000 expresso shots have gone through the original gasket. Ordered this up and replaced it within 48 hours thanks to Amazon. You’ll need a gasket hook 🪝 type tool to pry the old one out. Start working the new one in and then finish installing by using your portafilter. Yes it will be tight, it’s a new gasket. After a few weeks it’ll loosen up. Sometimes the reviews scare me and I lose faith in the future of man kind.

Make sure it's right number for your model coffee machine
It's not working for my model but they gave me money back. I wish they would just send me the right one for my model 840

Smart to replace each year,fit perfectly and pretty easy to change
It was a challenge to unscrew the allen bolt holding the pressure head and gasket on but with that done, this replacement fit absolutely perfectly and now my maker is as good as new. I"ve had issues with other models of makers not having good quality control, making it basically impossible to mount the basket after changing the washer, but breville did a great job (as per usual) with these! I am not sure why they cost so much but maybe that's the cost of quality. If you haven't changed your gasket this year, it's time and this is the one to get!

Perfect fit, easy replacement for old compressed gaskets
The new gasket took about 5 minutes to install in my BEX870XL. I didn't realize how worn out the original one was; shots pulled from my machine were noticeably smoother from the instant I installed this gasket.

Stopped Leaking Group Head
This is the exact gasket for the Barista Express - BES870XL. Was easy and quick to change. My old gasket was so bad I think it was even impacting the temperature of my espresso. Writing this review with my first cup off the new gasket, only complaint is the insane price of this thing compared to when in stock at the Breville site.
