Souvenir India Medieval Thick Padded Gambeson Coat Aketon Jacket Armor

I belong to a historical fencing academy and a traditional fencing jacket just desn't have enough padding to take on an infantry saber, broadsword, backsword or staff. So I was looking for something that looked good, allowed movement and provided upgraded protection.This is it. Tested it out in an open tournament at the academy and it came thru with flying colors.My only concern is the front close straps aren't really designed for that sort of punishment and a blade can certain be caught underneath one. Not a concern for me because I wear a flack jacket on top which covers the straps but consider yourself warned.

Fit good enough got a size up just to be safe and was a good call this is a thinner gambason though it is good looking I got black the leather straps arent made for contact with anything there just thin and pu leather if ur a fighter this is ok for an under chainmail gambason the sleeves are a plus once u get a stronger cord in place of the thin string that it comes with paracord is obviously the choice once that's done u have a decent under armor its lighter than most good fabric for under mail it is enough for some cushion and no pinching but heres the difference maker if u dont have armor breastplate or what I do is put on a 2nd thicker stronger gambason over the mail and this and then I put a breastplate over that but thats for full contact sca huma tour. Stufff or heavy sparring but if u just want a comfortable good looking gambason. For winter this is sharp I wear it all the time and get a ton of what's that whered u get that at all the time and for the price its the best ur gonna find for under 60 bucks 100 bucks gets u a thicker fighters gambason

I ordered a size over, it has plenty of room to move.The material feels great and moves nicely.It is quite thin, would hesitate to take a hit with a live sword. The buckles and straps provided are very light, not hard to change if needed.Shipping took two months, the DHL tracking number I was provided did not work, sat in the dark waiting for it to arrive.If you can wait, it is nice gambison for the price.Will probably order again

I've ordered two of these, and they do the job. I'm a big guy (5'10" 275lb, 50" chest) and the 2x actually fits like it should.

Thick, well padded, protective. Looks great.Buckles are low quality. White is difficult to wash oil from plate and mail off but thats my own stupidity.Runs very warm, removable sleeves are very nice.
