Beautifully Broken: A Motorcycle Club Romance (Reckless MC Mayhem Chapter Book 1)

You ever see a sunset that was so breath taking yet tumultuous you couldn't forget it. It wasn't calm it wasn't peaceful but the memory makes you calm or brings you a smile. That is this book in a nut shell. I can't help but think that this is beginning of a stunning series.

I wasn't expecting such an honest look at love. Two damaged people who have to work on themselves in order to be open to love. Oh, and the sex was just as hot as I hopped it would be. This is the first book I have read from this author, but not the last.

This has all the emotions and feels. Makes your heart break for this couple with all they went through and going through.

Jana and Max’s story is AMAZING. These 2 could not be more perfect for each other. They understand each other deeply and are the definition of soulmates. You’ll feel ALL the emotions in this one. Fantastic read!

This is one of these stories with two beautifully broken characters that is beautifully written that left tears in my eyes more than a few times and a story that I loved so much that even though I received an advanced copy...I had to buy it !!!Max was a SEAL and now suffers from PTSD in the form of nightmares from the last mission he was on that went wrong. Jana is a woman who’s past has left more than just physical scars on her. They meet in an art class and Max can’t help but notice the beauty beside him, but she’s hiding something and when Max finds out what it is, he doesn’t treat her any differently, which in turn has Jana opening up to him in more ways than one. But they both have ghosts that haunt them, Max more than her, so to be able to move forward they have to deal with the past and present threatening to ruin what they could have for a future.What an amazing story that had me in tears more than once, keeping the Kleenex beside me just in case as I flipped page after page. Jana, what a woman, kind, compassionate, insightful, caring, loving, strong and beautifully broken woman who deserves more than what life had gotten her. Max was a bit more complicated but when he realizes what he feels for Jana...sunshine bursting through the clouds. Their relationship is rocky from the get go but how it all comes together, with all the realizations about each other and themselves...beautiful.

Truthfully this is not a favorite of mine. The cover and the description all kind of scream MC book, so I was expecting more MC than you get from this book. This is more honorable MC guys, or “MC lite” guys.Anyway, here’s what I liked:I liked the use of art throughout the book, how it’s how Max and Jana kind of connected. I thought the author did a good job with descriptions so it was easy to picture what was happening in my head. I liked that Jana wasn’t the perfect girl, she had a scar on her face, normal insecurities, and she just felt authentic. Max also felt authentic, he has a complicated tragic past. I also really liked that Max was in therapy, I actually kind of loved that; and when he messed up he immediately went for an emergency appointment. I loved that, I think it’s important to have mental health dealt with in books. There were a few moments in the book where I felt all the feels, like when Jana breaks down towards the end, I think ever girl can relate to a moment like that.Things I didn’t like:Sometimes Max had these super strong reactions to things and said things that honestly seemed really out of character for him and were only there to cause conflict. The story itself was a little slow for me. I also felt like the book itself had a very sweet vibe to it, that just didn’t work for me. I think this is one of those books that didn’t work for me personally but could easily work for someone else.

Pain and beauty. Max and Jana’s story really pulled at all of my heart strings. It was less about the club and more about their past pain and heart ache. It was beautiful and heartbreaking. And totally hot. And still very sweet. I loved it and can’t wait to read Golden Boy’s story.

If you are looking to read a really good MC romance, DO NOT choose this book.Don’t get me wrong, I did like the book. The story and the characters were great but where was the MC part of the book?I marked it 3 stars because the biggest part of the title of the book, the reason why I chose to download this in the first place was completely missing. 9 or 10 sentences referencing a MC does NOT make this an MC book. Saying a character is in a MC does NOT make this an MC book. Very, very disappointed in that. I kept waiting for the MC part of this MC book and it never showed up. In fact, the more you got into it, the less it was mentioned.I would classify this as a recovering PTSD military book way before I’d even think about mentioning MC in the title. This isn’t an MC book in anyway. Sorry, but it’s not.

Wow...deeply scarred, both physically and emotionally, Max and Jana are heartbreaking. I'm a bit peeved that she forgave him so easily for what he said but doesn't reduce how much I love this story.

Beautifully broken is a wonderful book which shows second chances can happen and that love no matter what will help overcome many issues! Max used to be a in the Navy and worked overseas when him and his men hit a roadside bomb killing most of them, but three. Riddled with nightmares, he seeks out help with his PTSD to try work his way back into being a civilian and attempting to lead a normal life. Jana has had a tough life in that she was moved around foster homes from the age of six until an incident left her scarred and quiet around men. Teddy her best friend forces her out into the world when she can but Jana still doesn’t see herself the way Teddy does - until Max changes her mind when they meet at an art class!Very sweet read, didn’t really deal too much with the MC other than the occasional interaction with the guys and reference to how the life is etc. Keen to find out Tate’s story next and what Teddy has to say:)

A fabulous read from beginning to end. I couldn't put it down. Loved Max and Jana's story. Can't wait to read more by KB Winters. If you love biker stories with a difference read BEAUTIFULLY BROKEN!

Rating: 😍😍😍This book doesn't really follow the regular story line that you might think of as an MC romance. The MC at first seems to be a part of the story line but they are really just background noise. Its more of a story about two people - Jana & Max - who have been through hell and how they are both cooping with life after trauma. It was really cool how KB Winters brought to light what PTSD can look like and how it affects relationships and also how you feel in your own skin is the biggest deterrent for how someone sees themselves worthy of dreams.There was a lot of opportunity in this book to potentially to lean more into the MC theme of the book. Like the potential threat to Jana from her past, Max's brother Tate and how he wasn't in touch with his brother got explained briefly but it could have been something more like another gang who had killed the guy he was in prison for or something comes back to seek revenge... I don't know. It didn't have to be an MC book is what I'm trying to say - This was just about a soldier that came home with PTSD and the girl with the scarred face and how they put their baggage aside to be together instead of Max being apart of the MC - it didn't add anything to the story other then potentially introduce a series that might take advantage of MC themes in another book.It was a really good story - I was just disappointed it lacked MC themes as it was an MC book.. Well written though and it, again, was really well done when discussing therapy, PTSD, and what happens when low self-worth lives inside your soul effecting how you live and how you have relationships.
