Itil® V3 - A Pocket Guide: A Pocket Guide (Itsm Library): Volume 3 (Best Practice)

I heartily recommend this book. I bought it as an IT professional in Application Support who needs to work closely with an ITIL Service Management area and wanted to get an understanding of their approach. This little book it packed with information that is clearly laid out and easily accessed. It explains terms concepts concisely and with clarity.The book page size is A6 so the font is necessarily small but the clarity of the lay out helps. The size of the book is a real plus as it genuinely fits in your pocket if you need a ready reference on the move.The one thing it doesn't contain is any pointers as to the difference between ITIL V2 and ITIL V3 which may be a consideration to some buyers but did not affect me.Excellent value for money and a genuinely useful book.

Sorry this is a one star for me. Firstly the print is very small which doesn't make it easy to read. The diagrams are in grey and white, which almost defeats the point of having a diagram (the preview pages seems to imply that a third colour is used and the cover a few more!). I scanned the content which feels superficial. May be okay if you have a magnifying glass, can view the diags on line and just want to understand superficial information (possibly).

Working as a Solution Architect who is constantly delivering solutions to different customers I am regularly juggling the different tools and methodologies that help people to structure and deliver their IT.This book is one of a number I have in my bag that remind me of the meaning of different phases in the different methodologies. As a concise summary it's an invaluable tool to enable me to reorientate my thinking for the target audience.

Be sure NOT to buy this book IF you are on a budget and searching for the best ITIL v3 Foundation book (Passing your ITIL foundation official book (listed number 1 on amazon for bestseller)). This pocket guide covers the 2007 NOT the 2011 v3 and lists all processes not necessarily asked of you in the exam (i.e. Demand Management). It is overall a very good book but not the ideal option if you are a) seeking the most up to date ITIL and b) the ideal book to pass the ITIL V3 2011 Foundation.

If you need to remind yourself of ITIL this will do the trick. I have only dipped into it, but it seems comprehensive.

ITIL enough said; useful aide if you organisation insists on this framework. Keep in back pocket to brandish as required.

Eine gute, auf den Punkte gebrachte Summary der ITIL v3 Inhalte. ACHTUNG! Das Buch eignet sich zum Nachschlagen sofern man ITIL verstanden hat (Lifecycle, Service Mgmt. vs. System Mgmt.). Wenn nicht, sollte man zur Basis-Literatur greifen bzw. zumindest (!) ein Foundation-Training besuchen.4 Sterne weil der "rote Faden" fehlt, sonst 5!

Great for those times you need to whip out the source and confront someone who either does not recall ITIL correctly, or didn't want to recall it at all. Sits stealthily in your pocket until needed. Wondering if a pocket guide for ITIL v4 is in the making.

The content is accurate; however, the font type and size are really difficult to read, especially for a pocket guide. I have other pocket guides where I can easily open it up and quickly find the information that I'm looking for, but this guide due to the font and size of font makes it difficult.

This pocket guide is a great way to study for the exam. I studied for two weeks using the pocket guide and the ITIL V3 Exam Prep and passed. Would recommend to anyone who doesnt want to sit in a long 2 day class and still have to study afterwards.

Used the ITIL V3 Pocket Guide as primary source for successfully preparing for V3 qualification exam. Information contained in this guide was useful, compact, and well organized; however, would not recommend using it as the only source for exam preparatin. For example, this book combined with sample V3 exams should quarantee success.

Great pocket guide to ITIL v3. I recommend this for conversation meetings. I wish their were poster size process charts that you can print for under $20 each.

would recommend - use this book often as a quick reference - great size to keep deskside and handy when you need to look up something ITIL

Good book BUT the letter is very very small this is my only complaintI would preffer to have a bigger size book with a larger letter

I liked the guide I got from my training class much better, but it's OK still.

Gosh--I was looking forward to a "cool ITIL handbook" to throw into my briefcase. This book has the content from ITIL "Awareness" training--which met my need- but is next to impossible to read. There is plenty of white space on the page--why the Fonts were chosen to be like, "size 6" is beyond comprehension. Very frustrated by the book. It's a simple thing--When you buy a book, you should be able to read the letters on the page! As noted, the content is fine and what I was looking for.

This guide is just too small as others have stated in their reviews.Probably the small size was one way of cutting costs.My adult man sized hand practically covers the front of this book if this helps you grasp the true size.Given the small size of the book and the corresponding font sizes and diagram sizes, DO NOT BUY IT.Perhaps the content is great BUT this is not the book for you.Spend your money on other books/alternatives.
