One of the Best Shows we have had.
When I ordered this season 6 set, I didn't realize it was the final in the series. I have mixed feelings about that. I loved the show, I had some trepidation when 'The Closer' did it's wrap up but I was delighted with the spin-off and even though I never thought it possible, I enjoyed Mary McDonald's portrayal of Commander Sharon Raydor, possibly more than Kyra Sedgwick's "Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson. Mary made the show her own and there were enough differences in the show that they complimented each other. We went for a slightly manic, sugarholic, Southern accented (a little overdone sometimes) who would not settle for less than a confession to a soft spoken, calm mannered very sharp lady who was so much more than she seemed. Her approach was to get the criminal behind bars, confession or 'deal', whichever she could get. She was a woman of strong faith and that belief system guided everything she did. Some of the other characters, such as Lt. Provenza and Buzz as well as Andy were allowed to develop and grow in their characters. Amy blossomed into a very savvy detective and Julio was softened by the addition of his ward, a very hostile young man who had been influenced by White supremacists. I was very pleased with his development and that of the child. Fritz I was happy to see did not disappear along with Brenda and he was a pleasant addition to the spin-off. This show will be missed but the sad but somehow fitting wrap-up to the season gave closure to the fans of the show. It was time for old haunts to be resolved and Commander Sharon Raydor's departure was one that brought tears but was so fitting to her character. Well done, writers. I do wish that the TV Stations would put more effort into this type of programming rather than all those STUPID reality shows. There is nothing real about them, just a bunch of idiots making total jackasses of themselves.

Best season!
I watched the show when it was on tv and loved it. Now that I have the DVD I can watch it whenever I want to! It is such a great show. Season Six was the only one I was missing. Very happy to have it! Great story lines and wonderful cast.

One of the better shows & a series that we'll miss
We cut the proverbial cable cord 3+ years ago and waited for each season of Major Crimes to be released. We're sorry the series is ending after 6 seasons, but when you think about it many of the characters were also on The Closer which ran for 7 seasons so some of these actors were there for 13 years which in this day & age is a long time for a series.Season Six does not disappoint. Without giving anything away it starts out on a happy note as we get to see our Major Crimes family again. The seasons is divided into 3 multi-arc episodes: a 5-part series that introduces a new character and culminates in a wedding we've been looking forward. The 2nd arc then surprises us with a tragedy, and lastly the 3rd arc which is a carryover from The Closer and periodic Major Crimes episodes and it's rightful conclusion. What I liked about the show is the development of the characters over the years. We get to know a lot about them. We're going to miss this series, as it was one of the better shows. Perhaps a spin-off is in order, who knows, but we can always hope

I have purchased all seasons of Major Crimes, believe me it (is) was a terrific series. The people within the complete series were realistic to today's world. It shows that police have to do many things for their jobs; even dying while trying to finish a reported crime. I, for one, will greatly miss the series. The Closer was a precursor to Major Crimes and that show was very interesting. We should have more televised series regarding the Police Departments of major cities, because it shows the discourtesy of people to the police (who I was taught at an early age in Brooklyn to respect), but people today have no respect and you who watch most police dramas;(as I do) can see how children are taught to disrespect the people who cover and patrol their neighborhoods. For all the POLICEMEN AND WOMEN out there I thank God every day knowing that you are there.

It's always great when a beloved series isn't just cancelled but has a known end date. Major Crime's final season wraps up very well leaving us sad that it's over but glad that it ended with no questions left unanswered. Many of the character have been there for the seven years of Closer and al the years of Major Crimes. They will be missed!

Sad to see it go.
Really too bad this is the last season for the series. If they had departed from the standalone episodic nature and switched to these longer story arcs - taking a cue from streaming shows' binge-worthy narrative paces - they could have saved it. Season 6 is divided into three, multi-episode arcs, much akin to the three-part 'White Lies' arc in Season 5.
