Another WINNER from Mr Pen !
Ive bought several items made by Mr Pen and been impressed with every one. This compass is no exception. I love thé pencil holder on this AND, it holds a Sharpie (tight, but fits). Woodworkers and crafters use Sharpies frequently, so this is a bonus. Compass is sturdy, holds position and includes an extra pencil (nice touch) and nice packaging. Plus, Mr Pen stands by everything they make, unconditionally. And, they keep prices down. My only improvement I would suggest for this compass is - Make the pencil holder with adjustable "tilt", to kerp pencil straight in every diameter. Second, make the pencil holder slightly larger, to hold a Sharpie and similar markers better. Again, this does hold a Sharpie, but it slides in tightly. Overall, it's a nice item, from a great maker (Mt Pen).

More stabile than the more expensive one
I purchased this after being very disappointed in the other compass I purchased. That one had a joint part way up the one arm, and was not very stabile. Haven't had any problems with stability with this one. It also holds a Sakura Micron, which was a necessity for me. The only thing I am slightly miffed about is the size of circle I can draw with it. It's just a hair to small, and the extension arm j have makes a little awkward to use. Though overall I'm pleased with it.

Working great!
This is working great and it expanded really well. I was able to swap out the pencil with my full size color pencils so I would definitely recommend it.

5 months in, it fell apart - but the company replaced it
(updated) Impressed with the company, it not the product. At first I loved the compass, and the main structure of it is still perfect. Bought in December, in May it stopped being useable. I had fairly limited usage and stored it in the box when it was not in use. And yet, the solid metal parts are amazing and perfect, but the part that holds the pencil is a plastic screw in a plastic sheath and that no longer can be tightened thanks to the plactic giving out and not holding tight so the pen/pencil will just slide out at random times, which changes the diameter of the circle and makes it utterly useless. If I tighten it more, the screw pops over the threads.I reached out to Mr. Pen and then immediately refunded my order. AND I had also left a 1 star review - which they promptly responded to with an apology and a direct message offering me a refund. so now I'm taking the average. 5 star company, but not sure this compass is a five star product. I ordered the same one again after the refund because it has all teh features I want, except perhaps durability. Time will tell on round 2.

Not professional at all
Incomplete product, poor plastics molding inadequate assembly QC process. The legs of the compass are not aligned with each other, which means the top portion where the legs pivot is not made with any sort of precision and the misalignment causes varying amounts of slop depending on which way you draw (CCW vs CW), so you can't draw a circle one direction and go over the same line in the other direction. The two black sort of teardrop shaped pieces they show on Amazon at the ends of the adjustment allthread piece (the spreader thread that adjusts the radius of the circle) are not there on mine & I see some other customers that do not have them either in the review pictures. If those are supposed to be there to help fix the leg misalignment and sloppiness, then they are not optional. On the leg with the pencil holder, just above the pencil holder, you can see a knurled nut in the Amazon picture. Mine does not have the nut, so you can't tighten down on the stud that is inserted into the leg that holds the pencil holder. That makes the pencil holder loose so it makes the misalignment of the legs worse. The screw that nut attaches to is 1.33mm diameter, so it will be very difficult to replace the screw and nut with something off the shelf because it is close to a 0-80 screw size, but may be able to take a 1-72 on a good day and you are not going to find those at the big box stores. The pencil holder is plastic and the knurled plastic screw that tightens down on the pencil doesn't work all that well because the threads in the housing and on the screw look like they are molded in, not cut or even chased after molding, so it is a pretty poor and inconsistent thread fit. All in all, a worthless instrument with extremely poor quality control in design, manufacturing, and assembly. Pretty much zero stars. You are better off getting a good compass and maybe trying just the pencil holder part with the good compass (you can get the pencil holder part from DB at a cost of a few dollars). The pencil holder will allow using a 0.452" diameter Sharpie retractable marker, but that is about the max, and be aware that when using smaller diameters like a standard pencil, the fact that it has only one tightening screw and the holder covers only 0.355" of the length of the pencil means that it is fairly easy for the pencil to rock back and forth, adding to the slop in the diameter being drawn. Your tendency will be to tighten the holding screw more and more and you will eventually most likely strip the screw before the pencil will stay put. Redesign, better materials, and better manufacturing are the only ways to solve all these issues.

Easy to handle
I use this for drawing guide lines for dot painting. After buying so many different ones this one by far is easy to use and handle

Finally one that doesn’t move!
I bought a couple of these from the dollar store and Walmart but both of them didn’t have the locking mechanism that prevents it from moving as you turn it. I use this to draw circles for rock painting so it needs to be precise and not move. This was worth every penny!

school compass
Slight play in divider arm lock thereby degrading accuracy. Compass sitable schoolwork but not forcarpentry work.

Solide
La roulette empêche le compas de bouger, ce qui est très précis. Belle qualité pour le prix. Je recommande.
