Lost in translation.
It's such a shame that the English translation is absolutely riddled with errors.I've only just started the book (just completed the first chapter), *and*, it is an expensive one at that (for such an impulse purchase) - but these are good people and I wanted to support them.And..... I 'm a BIG believer in dreaming big and going for things. So, I do recommend this book, it's not very well written to be honest, but it is evident that these people have good hearts, so I'm sticking with it and am enjoying following them on their journey.(in fact, to a degree, the poor translation, sometimes laughable, adds to the fun of the book !).I know there'll be LOTs of important life-lesson messages imbued within it !

most inspiring travel book ever
I cannot recommend this book enough, it gives a renewed hope for human nature and inspiration to the reader through the true determination of a young couple fulfilling their childhood dream. Very well written and beautifully laid out the format makes for easy reading, with a story so amazing you just cannot put the book down.

Living life in the "Adventurous" lane
Read the book before this becomes a film, which it surely will. For the past decade Herman & Candelaria Zapp have been travelling the world with their faithful old car and an increasing number of children (4 at last count)! They started with the idea of backpacking through the Americas before settling down to a conventional life. They came by an opportunity to restore and use a vintage car, and so their life-changing journey began.I met Herman and Candelaria and their first born, then a babe, in Yosemite in 2003. They had self-published a small booklet at that stage and wrote Spark Your Dream some time later. I bought several copies of the book at the first opportunity and shared them out amongst friends. It really is the best travel book I have ever read and knowing that it is such a real story makes it all the better. They haven't had to embellish any of their stories, just tell it as it is, taking their car over mountain ranges, through jungles, across rivers and seas, and meeting such wonderful people all along the way. They are a one-car, one-family, United Nations - crossing borders and continents and proving that all over the world people are the same: kind-hearted, warm, giving, and sharing. If you have the opportunity to read this book - whether you buy it or borrow it - you will enjoy every minute of it.

Anything is possible - their story proves this.
Let yourself be taken on an adventure. I admire the courage these people have - can't believe they are still on the road - 14 years later- 4 kids later. What an inspiration.
