France Luxe Classic European Side Comb - Onyx

This is a lovely, high quality faux tortoise shell hair comb that stays in place much better than most. I only bought one, but I will buy more.

I had tried to use hair combs ages ago. They simply flipped right out of my hair. Very thick, fine hair. Fine hair as in the shaft of my hairs are small diameter. Thick as in there is loads of baby like hair. I have a hard time keeping barrettes, head bands - anything - in my hair.Getting a better quality of comb makes a difference. This is it! Stays in my hair all day!This is a fairly substantial comb. I use it on the back of my head to hold my hair up beneath a pony tail.

It's finished well, with no rough edges. It was also slightly oily from the manufacturing process- so wash it well with soap and water before using it. It's tight! Really tight. With not much give going in. My hair is not all that thick anymore and it required a good push to anchor a twisted top bun just at the end of the ponytail onto the crown of my head. It may be breaking hair when it goes in, as I noticed some long loose hairs after taking it out. (Hmmm.) But it sure stays in. And is comfortable. I'm not 100% sure it's going to be my new favorite. I may try to flatten it a bit in hot water to open the tines up a little more. (Or it may relax on its own with use.) But considering how narrow the market is for decent side hair combs that actually do the job, this one is worth buying and trying. Good quality. Well made. Nice. If the tines loosen up just a bit, I will get another.

As others have said, these are very expensive side combs. They are well worth the price. When I first saw them, I thought they looked too large. Because they are concave, they form to my head nicely.I've used a variety of side combs ranging from the cheap drugstore brand, to Grip-Tuth and other products made by France Luxe. These combs are beautiful and they grab hair effectively. Typically, I have to fidget with my hair to get the comb to side in effectively and look nice. With these, it's always smashing with the first try. I often do vintage styles in my hair and I've used them to hold my hair up on the side with curls, in victory rolls, and in updos. Because they hold and set well without fussing, my hair stays in place nicely.My hair is medium thickness and is grown out past my shoulders with layers. If you're used to paying the high prices for these products, you won't be disappointed. That being said, this is a lot of money to spend on a hair accessory.

Beautiful and primarily loved it but it broke after just a few uses. I was not even aggressive with it. The teeth are low quality and not thick enough to tolerate pushing over time — which is the point of a French comb. This was an expensive waste of money.

To secure my long hair all day, it does a wonderful job while looking like a gorgeous piece of jewelry.

The material is perfect perfect size for my hair. I love this comb. I have bought a second one I like to so well.

I have thick hair and it did not break as I was shoving it through my hair so it is obviously strong. However, it was a bit too small for my long hair. I wish it was about an inch longer. I am still going to keep it because I think it's cute but I do wish it served the purpose I bought it for especially since I paid almost $20 for a piece of plastic.
