When I placed an order for this I thought I will be getting edging strips made of hard plastic as this is what I was looking for but what I got was a roll of a strip made of a silicone/rubber type of material. There is nothing wrong with it until you come cutting it for corners. Because the material is soft, you cannot join two bits together very well and if you eventually do by using some sort of a glue it does not look very good. Pictures from the seller do not show how the corners have been joined and I think the reason is what I have just described. If you were to use it on a straight line only without having to do any corners then this product is ok.

I wasn't sure how this product would work on the bottom of my bathroom shower tray which is the full width of my bathroom but I wanted to try it and it has worked very well. It has waterproofed and smartened up my shower tray really well, just what I was looking for. You get a 2.5m long x 1.5cm deep roll of the Silicone Shower Threshold Water Barrier. It is self adhesive and although I have used it on a shower tray it could be used anywhere that you have a waterproofing requirement such as around sinks and toilets etc. The strip has a peel off red backing which leaves a sticky side to it that you press onto a clean dry surface. You can use it either way up depending on the gap you need to fill and it simply cuts to the length you require. With it being made out of silicone I found it easier and more pliable to use than more rigid plastic strips I have tried. The corners are the tricky bit but in this instance I found it easier to bend it around and into the corner rather than cutting it as the strip is flexible. I am not sure if this is the recommended way but it certainly was easier than cutting the strip and trying to patch the corner together and it worked out well. I am pleased with this silicone strip, along with its waterproof benefits, it looks so much better aesthetically and it is easy to keep clean. I am considering trying it out on other areas such as the bottom of my bathroom sink and toilet where I think it would also work well.
