So You Want to be a Dog Trainer, 3rd edition

I was delighted and surprised how beneficial this book was for me. It's thorough but not too wordy. It touches on all the important considerations that someone interested in becoming a dog trainer should think about and be aware of. The 3rd edition is excellent because it covers things like social media and other internet topics. It's both candid and tactful. I get the strong sense that Nicole is warm and wise, not soured or hardened from her years of experience. There is absolutely no reason for a new dog trainer to go out and learn by trial and error. This book is a must for new dog trainers. I'm not a new dog trainer, so some review was nice, but other thoughts were novel and valuable. I wish I had this book 20 years ago.

This is a wonderful resource full of useful info for the aspiring dog trainer! The profession is largely unregulated still and there is so much info on the internet it is overwhelming. I had no idea where to start until I got this book. It has everything you need to know and is fun to read. I already found a mentor in my area and I'm so excited!

I was looking for a book with detailed current training methods. This one dwells on the business side for those wishing to become dog trainers. Well written though, just not what I was looking for.

I'm 21 year old trying to find out the best way of starting to become a dog trainer i searched hours on the internet for years now in t he library and couldn't find anything that really helped me then I found this book and it has seriously helped me understand and now know what to do in order for me to strive towards my dream and even list some accredited schools with was also a huge help thank u

I got allot of good ideas from this book. It was very detailed and exactly what I was looking for to start my dog training career.

Well written. Great references and guidance. Would refer it to others interested in knowing more about the animal training field.

Maybe I missed something but I thought I purchased a new book. The book i received was obviously used. I was still able to read it so I just kept it.
