No firming agent is a major plus point
I regularly buy Biona Haricot and Red Kidney beans. The best feature for me is that they don't contain any firming agent which is unlike most supermarket brands I have bought. A firming agent results in the beans being crunchy no matter how long they are are cooked for but which, of course, some people expect. Biona beans are soft when cooked and absorb the flavours of, say, a casserole if using them in that way. All in all, in my opinion, the perfect tinned beans.
