Heaters were super reliable, lasting for many years
I've used this type of propane heater for many years--the old Mr. Heaters were super reliable, lasting for many years. For the last few years I switched to a different brand from Ace hardware, which were absolute pieces of s***. Well, it looks like Mr heaters are simply following suit with the general tread of mass producing the same crap. I bought this from amazon two months ago, and it's bit the dust already, and, as they're only warranteed for 30 days, I've wasted another $50. As a long time user of this type of tank top propane heater, I will never buy another one. I hope there is maybe a little more expensive type that will last longer than a few months.

I was send a clearly used device that was probably returned as faulty. It has an open flame when lit and is not functioning properly.

works great
Works well, heats the garage effectively even with venting the space in the winter time, if I need to buy another I might go to the two pan option to make the garage just a bit warmer.***Update****Less than a year of use and this no longer works. I will be seeking another product line

Broke after a month of use!
MR.Heater stop working less than a month of usage (purchased early this year) MR. heater's tech support susgested to bypassing the switch by connecting the two yellow wire together with no vain, they have conclued that the thermocouple is bad and will take 5-7 days to receive the replacement thermocouple under waranty. will provide feedback update if i run into any issue with replacing the thermocouple myseft..Stock up a few of the thermocouples because it look like you might have to replace it oftens. Im not sure if it is worth it, since the thermocouple cost ~$17.30 and the heater cost around $40.00Amazon link to the thermocouple : https://www.amazon.com/Mr-Heater-F237425-Thermocouple-Assembly/dp/B008DBR1QY/ref=pd_bxgy_201_2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=2PN5V2Y49EYTQCXKERYV&dpID=31HXAu6yfOL&preST=_SX300_QL70_&dpSrc=detailASIN B008DBR1QY

I ordered this the first time back in October and the product was delivered damaged. The packaging was great but the product itself found inside the box had extensive damage (bended frame and crushed) and definitely not due to transport. That means it must have left the manufacturer the way it was. They must have seen or QC at least must have spotted the damage but still allowed it shipped. The unit however was surprisingly still operable. I complained to Amazon however and the unit was promptly replaced. When I opened up the replacement unit for the first time to use it last night, the unit looked great but will not stay LIT when I take off my finger from the push valve safety button. What a drag! It doesn't look like the product is reliable at all from the manufacturer side and I certainly will not gamble in taking risk with this brand at all.

it really is easy to light & operate
I bought this when the weather was starting to change. Recently I have used several times. The first time I had to have my husband show me a couple of times as I was uneasy propane tank & lighter = ) but, it really is easy to light & operate. It keeps my whole covered patio nice and warm. I do have pull down shades that I use to keep the heat in. My pets will hang out with me. Puts out plenty of heat on low. I have used about aprox 20 hours on 5 gal tank a & still feels like I have half a tank or so left.

Safety switch is useless
Heater worked fine for about one week including about six short runs with the heater on a level floor inside building. Tried to start the next day and nothing I tried would cause the heater to start. I rewired the safety switch in order to bypass the switch. Heater has now started fine and is now ok. The cheap safety switch on this heater is more of an inconvenience than a safety feature and should surely last more than a week before a total failure. If you decide on this heater be ready to have to make some repairs yourself.

Nothing beats Mr. Heater... trust me ...
Nothing beats Mr. Heater... trust me, I've tried the others! I purchased the Dyna-Glo which seemed to be nearly a direct replica of the Mr. Heater excepted it had the added benefit of being easier to change directions of where it is aiming. However it was not nearly as "efficient" in that it burned propane a lot faster than the Mr. Heater, without providing any additional (noticeable) heat. I returned the Dyna-Glo and re-ordered the old-faithful Mr. Heater. I run my outdoor heaters nearly everyday for around 4 months out of the year and usually get two to three years of use out of a Mr. Heater.
