Was easy to install on lazy boy big man recliner Seems to be doing the job. I am so glad I gave it a try before getting a different recliner.

Works perfectly. My advice to anyone repairing their favorite recliner is to search YouTube for a great "how to" video first. For my Lazy Boy recliner, the best instructional video I found was produced by the "Recliner Repair Guy". Amazon won't let me post the link to the video here, but take it from me, if you do your homework before diving into this project, you'll be better off. And likely save a lot of your time and money over finding a commercial repair shop to do the work for you.

Wish I had bought these months earlier. I was so annoyed by the recliner “skipping” teeth or not setting/staying in the reclined position. Well worth every penny!

If your recliner slips down when you put the leg support out and try to rock back, then this part will correct that issue. In the past I have had some success removing the bracket and filing the teeth sharp again, but that only lasts for awhile. Once the teeth are worn down it’s time for a new ratchet bracket. I would have given it 5 stars, but this replacement part is NOT threaded like the original. They include 2 machine screws with nuts along with a wood screw which I guess they expect you to run through the bracket into the wood frame which could be awkward to do depending on the style recliner. They really should have taken the time to tap the holes to the 1/4”-20 the original one had. Since I have tap & die sets here it was a simple matter of tapping threads. Everything lined up exactly as it should and combined with a new plate that crimps onto the “blade” that engages the ratchet bracket, the chair works like new.

This is an exact match to the one in my Lazyboy. Only suggestion I have is do yourself a favor and have an impact driver to remove the existing screws, for me it was a T30 bit. These are self tapping screws, reuse them that’s why you need the impact driver. The screws that come with it will never last.

If you have a T30 Torx bit and an Impact Drill (1/4in worked great) it couldn’t be easier. The screws in the chair are self tapping so they will work on the new part. Turn chair on side and extend leg platform. Cut three slits to access the screws. 👍

Same part as original other than the bolt holes weren't treaded. I wanted to use the original bolts form the old one so I just went ahead and taped the holes out.

Easy to change but the original pawl was threaded to use screws. The replacement came with bolts so was not able to use the original screws.
