Description
- The farm Principality of Lucedio has a long history of almost nine centuries and covers an area of five hectares in a regional park. The entire production process is environmentally friendly: the packaging of products in protective atmosphere guarantees freshness and nutritional qualities.
- Abbey Lucedio was founded in 1123 by Cistercian monks who reclaimed the territory by introducing the beginning of '400 - the first in Italy - the cultivation of rice. As time passed, thanks to its strategic geographical position along the Via Francigena, the Abbey became a thriving center of economic and political power: three were the Popes who visited.
- Lucedio was also a reason for confrontation between Italian dynastic families: increased from the Gonzagas to the Savoy, the Abbey became property of Napoleon at the beginning '800.
- Then he goes to the Marquis Giovanni Gozzani of San Giorgio, ancestor of the current owner, the Countess Rosetta Clara Cavalli d'Olivola Salvadori Wiesenhoff.
