Home and Garden Spas 6-Person 40-Jet Hot Tub with MP3 Auxiliary Output

I have now owned this product for 2 years. I use it regularly (2-3 times a week) 8 months out of the year. I drain the water and clean the spa every 4 months and always maintain proper chemical balance. Balancing the chemicals is fairly easy. I use a Nature II stick in the filter and I add a small amount of chlorine 1-2 times a week. I also add a small amount of non chlorine shock 1-2 times a week. That's all for the chemicals. I keep the spa drained for the 4 months of summer.One thing I would have liked to know before I bought this, is that this model, the X-5, only has one pump. Which means its not strong enough to fully power all of the jets at the same time. There is a control lever that lets you put one half or the other half of the jets on full blast. If you put the lever in the middle, all of the jets work at half speed. You have to buy a more expensive model to get two pumps.Everything has worked well the entire two years except for one item, the waterproof speaker system. The master speaker (subwoofer) was broken when I received the spa brand new. It is under warranty for 6 months so I called and they sent me another one free of charge. That one worked about 2 years before it stopped working, and they sell new ones for about $140. The two speakers inside the spa have worked very well and I imagine they still work, but they do not work without the master control speaker attached underneath the cabinet.The control panel underneath the spa is extremely difficult to access. You must take off the entire side panel, which is 5 ft x 3 ft. It is basically impossible to put that back on properly, its too heavy and awkward to fit back into position. Therefore I was forced to cut it in half and create new nail holes to drill it back into place. They really need to redesign that by creating a door with latches so that you do not have to unscrew about 15 screws and remove the entire sidewall. I have had to access that area quite a bit because of problems I have had with the subwoofer that is down there. Also the electrician accesses that area when first installing it.The only issue my electrician had installing this was they cutout hole for the 4 wires that go into the master control box was not big enough. 4 wires of 50 amp are required to power this, yet the cutout hole was only big enough to hold 3 wires. Basically it is a design flaw that needs to be corrected.Other than what I have listed, which I all consider to be somewhat minor flaws, I have enjoyed this spa and it has been a quality spa that has held up well and has been worth the money.

I bought this 1 1/2 years ago. There were problems with some of the jets leaking initially and the company was very responsive and paid for all parts and labor to have it fixed. I wanted to wait for some time to see if the leaks came back but no leaks and it's been 1 1/2 years. Hot tub is very attractive and gets complements from friends. MP3 player/subwoofer sound quality was better than expected and is used all the time. Great price. I would recommend this hot tub to anyone and will buy this brand again in the future!

It looks great, but did not come with any instruction manuals? Don't know how to connect it or operate it without one. Tried to contact Amazon and the manufacture, but no luck on getting any replies. Also it was suppose to be new, but arrived with water in it? They have my name and phone number, hoping someone from Amazon will contact me and at least tell me how to get an instruction book.

Got our Hot Tub IN July and after about a month the heater went out. alled customer service and they sent me a new heater and walked me through the install which only took about 25 min. It was very easy. Ever sense the Hot tub works great. I am 6'1 and fit into the tub perfectly fine. Love the sound system. Great product and very happy with the purchase.

The side panels are not easy to get on and off. Hard to get them lined up and it has small pre drilled holes so if they are not lined up exactly it will crack. Hope we never have to take them off again!!

It's very attractive and has no shortage of jets. Price was right and professional installation was very reasonable.

Tub came but not without incident. Had to line up 6 guys to help place tub in backyard. Shipping comany dropped tub off at another location in my state and that trucking company said that I am responsible for getting tub off truck. That the had no lift gate. Argued for an hour and took my chances. Tub came and truck had lift gate and a very very nice helpful driver. Took several hours to get tub about 50 feet. Quite the ordeal. As with all their tubs it was water tested at factory. The water however was still in pipes and tubes of hot tub. I live in Connecticut. It is winter and we had 30 inches of snow the next day. Licensed Electrician/friend/handyman came and it took "us" about 3 days to get it hooked up properly to code. We then filled tub halfway and found that the main tube under tub was cracked in half and water ran out of bottom of tub and created an unwanted but very pretty ice skating ring in my backyard. The company however was good about letting friend fix tub and reimbursing him. Then we refilled tub and found another area to be cracked that was harder to fix. Both fixes though involved basic PVC and involved some parts to be sent by company which were sent out the next day. The company has been good about taking care of me but the reason for the cracks was the water left in tub that froze and cracked pipes. Totally the fault of the company not getting water out of tubes before shipping. Things are pulling together now but it has been very frustrating. I can say that customer service has been fairly good so far but this experience has been maddening but it does seem to be getting better now. Tub is running with temporary fix so tub won't refreeze. It is running nicely and can't wait to use it this weekend. I would recommend this tub as the price is good overall. The quality according to my electrician is okay but not great. Not bad but not to standard of the best big name tubs. Still this tub seems to be written up fairly well and I do really like the way it is working after 3 days. Hopefully it will hold up.UPDATE. Okay, so it's been a few years. Now August 2014. 3 years and 7 months. The tub has had a leaky pipe again, had to have a water jet replaced. Heater broke. That was under extended warranty. Motor pump went, had that replaced under warranty. Now, a year after the last pump, this pump blew. Now out of warranty and under a new company name, IE bankrupt your s*** out of luck. They want 400 for new pump. I've had it with this thing. Yes it's been a few years but it is on it's last leg and I can't trust it through another winter. Just about payed off too. I am trying to trade it in for a new Hot Springs tub in a local store who WILL finance as well. Stay away from this company and this tub, made under a few different names. Laguna Bay Spas, Leisure products, look it up stay away, nothing but trouble. Spend more , this just isn't worth the anxiety. I have visited the local spa store who helped me patch this mess together over the years. The anxiety of it crapping out and the poor overall service and bankrupt company have been stressful and not worth the low price. The local store has financed me for a new Hot Springs Glow spa. A gorgeous spa under a full 5 year warranty through Hot Springs. An awesome spa. They will provide IN HOME service and parts. People love the place so I'm buying it there and they will carry this piece of crap away. No trade as they said this thing isn't worth the space it takes up. Can't wait for the new one. The honeymoon on this spa and the company that makes and warranties it is totally frightening. I gave this 2 stars because I did get a few years of use out of it. At the store where I'm buying the Hot Springs they have models of Hot Springs that are 25 year old trade ins and are the same price as this thing was new so that tells you how Hot Springs holds up.
