Planting soon
I had a hard time getting companies to send me these seeds. I would put them in my cart, only to have them produce an error that said they wouldn't ship to my location. I looked into it and found several states that won't allow them shipped there. I couldn't find a reason for my state to be among those. This company did allow the order to come through luckily.I have grown this before but it wasn't in a great spot so it didn't last to the next year even though it's a perennial plant.I buy remedies made from this plant and we use it constantly. I was particular about getting a non GMO heirloom plant because it will be used medicinally. These look like they fit my parameters. This is one of those plants that mimics what it's good for. It has tiny pin prick looking holes up the leaves. That's a hint to what it's good for.Instructions seem pretty good. There's not a ton on the package back, but good enough to grow them. These need to be put out in fall or started inside weeks before the last frost so I've got to get them in soil now to be ready.I can't give them a solid 5 until I see how they do for a while. Then I'll move up or down based on that.

Seed packets are judged on the presentation and usefulness of the packet, since most reputable seed companies will send you seeds until you get viable germinating ones. I have gotten multiple seed packets from Sow Right Seeds now, and can say from experience that they are generally an affordable yet quality brand as far as seed packets go. This packet of St Johns Wort seeds is everything you need to deal with the plant, without drowning newcomers in overly science-tastic fluff, where it can grow, is it perennial (it is), does it require special conditions like light and temperature to germinate, how long does that take, how does it behave, what will it do and does it do anything for you. The front picture does a good job of summing up the plant as well as its medicinal use, so I give this a five star rating as far as seed packets go.

Great Seeds
St. John's Wort is a fun little herb to grow. I grew it for the first time this year and love the little trailing vines. It's a very nice little plant for a 4 to 5 inch pot. Mine did not flower in the pots. I did plant one in the ground in my herb garden and that one flowered, but it can get lost if it's planted near other herbs that grow taller like basil and rosemary. I grew it purely for the interest and flowers and did not harvest any of it for medicinal purposes. I forgot about it, honestly, as I usually try to at least make a tea out of my herbs so I know what it tastes like. Sow Right Seeds is based in Missouri and I've purchased lots of seeds directly from their website. Highly recommend!
