My glasses didn't fit in the chamber with the basket in place, requiring me to remove it for cleaning. My first impression was how large this unit is, but it does accommodate a good deal of items so you can clean one or many. Storage is always an issue for me, so size is something that needs to be considered. This unit operates at 48kHz, which appears to be more than most other units out there that are similarly priced.I had some beat-up old rings that were living in the back of a drawer for many years, and I thought they would be perfect for conducting a test. The operation of the unit is pretty straight forward and it was easy to turn it on and make selections for cycle time. I chose to go with the longest cycle (6 minutes) because the jewelry was quite dirty and tarnished. The instructions say that for added cleaning power you could add a couple drops of cleaning liquid, but I opted to go with just plain water and set it for a 6-minute cycle. I was impressed as to how quiet the unit ran. However, I wasn’t that impressed with the results, so I added a couple drops of liquid dish soap and ran it for another 6-minute cycle. That addition of soap helped, but the rings still looked like they would benefit from another cycle, so I ran them through another cycle. That’s 18 minutes total. The third cycle resulted in only slight improvement, but the rings were noticeably brighter. I have provided before and after pics.Although I didn’t try to clean anything but some old rings, all-in-all I think this is a handy thing to have and it would probably work best in cleaning your jewelry (and other things) if you did it on a regular basis before they get too far gone, thus avoiding the need to employ other cleaning methods. Given the ease of use of this machine, that shouldn’t problem.

Very nicely built ultrasonic cleaner for the price, easy to use too

This is a very good jewelry cleaner that is not just limited to jewelry. I have cleaned my watches, my glasses and it just does a great job. I mean I placed clean glasses, and look at the picture of the water at the end!!! I was surprised, and I place them under another cycle, and this time the water was clean. It did the job the first time.It makes me happy to purchase a product and the product works well, as advertised.Excellent small item cleaner!

While I do tend to at least wipe things down after I use them, I never knew just how much dirt got into all those places that a cleaning cloth will not reach. Within a second of being dunked into the ultrasonic cleaner every small item I've cleaned like jewelry and glasses, released a puff of brown gunk into the water. After playing around with the settings and putting the items through multiple times I ended up with a satisfyingly clean pair of glasses.While I did have to take out the basket to make my glasses fit, the fact that it's big enough to fit glasses at all greatly increases its usability.
