John Pike Paints Watercolor

Great gift

Mr Pike is an excellent teacher and well deserving the title of artist. Don't expect a ton of pictures in this volume. Just sound advice with well thought out lesssons

Arrived on time. No problems with the order. Book in new condition. Included good examples of his work, how he went about doing the painting, what tools he uses. Full of informations the student can apply.

I liked the quick delivery. The book was not the edition I wanted. A friendhas the same title of J. Pike but the photos of the paintings are not the same.I really loved the work that was shown in the original, especially apainting of the mountains of Chile's Patagonia.Is it possible to get a copy of the original?Thanks,Rusty

Interesting artists point of view on composition and lighting.

Very helpful book. Really wonderful demos that allow you to learn the techniques of watercolor.

This book is written in a style that is very comprehensible and easy to follow for a watercolorist. I would highly recommend it.

good book like the format he uses for instruction

Beautiful book. I also have the John Pike Watercolour book which was published in the mid-sixties. I must admit, I do prefer the 1960's book. The reproductions are more vivid and the colours are brighter. I also prefer John's early works, where his subject matter was more interesting and his style was less impressionist. But, it's a great book for any John Pike fan....

For those who appreciate traditional watercolour. By very careful observation and using traditional methods with great skill, Pike portrays his joy in nature and in particular his love of his home territory. The 'hows' and 'whys' are also explained clearly and simply - and with great humour.
