Au revoir Gopher!
Caddyshack is directed by Harold Ramis who also co-writes the screenplay with Douglas Kenney and Brian Doyle-Murray. It stars Chevy Chase, Rodney Dangerfield, Bill Murray, Ted Knight and Michael O'Keefe. Music is by Johnny Mandel and cinematography by Stevan Larner.Chaos reigns at Bushwood Country Club when egos, wagers and a Gopher surface on the golf course.Harold Ramis' debut movie is a pretty plotless affair that rises above this fact to entertain royally whilst providing a stage for the likes of Murray and Dangerfield to strut their defining shtick. Suffice to say that one needs to be enamoured with said artists to fully enjoy the picture, whilst a modicum of golf interest also helps. The youthful caddies of the piece, clearly meant to be at the core of the story, struggle to make headway with such boisterousness around them, but the chaos is finely tuned by Ramis and there's something uniquely funny about watching someone like Murray trying to blow up a disco dancing Gopher! An acquired taste but also a monster hit back in the day, Caddyshack is frayed around the edges and a little too goofy at times. But when it hits its comedy peak, visually and orally, it's not hard to get wrapped up in the chaos and find the laughs lurching out from the belly. 7/10

Total consciousness.
I've heard a lot about this movie, but I had never watched it until recently. Then, curious to see all the movies featuring Bill Murray, I finally bought the BR.It's a simple sports comedy, set in the world of golf players. The parts with the boys working as caddies are more or less filler, while most of the story centers around the four main characters. Now, Rodney Dangerfield's character is not my favorite (he even makes a very dumb joke about Italians), while Chevy Chase is funny, buy not really to my tastes. On the other hand, all the scenes with Bill Murray as Carl the greenskeeper (and the gopher!) are classic, and I can see why this movie is still so beloved in the States.I can't really say much about the picture quality in this BR. It doesn't always look perfectly clean, buy for 35 years old movie it's acceptable. There's a good quantity of extras: trailers, interview, and a 90 minutes long documentary. A well-made collection.

Dance Of The Living Dead - Blu Ray Version
This is a worthy upgrade if you are a fan of this film. the picture and sound quality are very good, but you will really appreciate when you compare it to a DVD version of the film. The difference is truly night and day.The film is very very good and genuinely funny, but episodic and sketchy with no real narrative flow. Watching the bonus features explain why the film seems a bit random at times and I appreciate it even more now - its almost a surprise it got completed at all!Where this Blu Ray really shines is the absolutely brilliant bonus material, an 80 minute documentary (one of the best special features I have ever watched for any film) with some brutal honesty and alot of information that was new to me. You also get another similar 30 minute documentary with some out-takes scattered throughout.Never seem this film? Give it a shot.Never owned it but want to? Get this Blu Ray version.Have it on DVD and wonder if its worth the upgrade? 100% yes.

Splendid
It is what it is....A bloody hilarious DVD that came on time.. Not a lot more I can say really! Also bought 'Fletch' 'Spies Like Us' 'National Lampoon', 'Planes Trains and Auto mobiles', 'Groundhog Day'.. On a bit of a quest for quality old comedy from my younger days..Now, don't get me wrong, I had some funny moments with 'The Hangover', 'Get Him To The Greek' was pretty damn good and 'The Goods' had me laughing out loud on my own, (always a good sign)... But they really don't make em like this any more..Life is an unpredictable beast, put a little Chevy in it and forget about that outstanding council tax bill, (for two hours).... Or just arrange to pay it and take the load off your mind permanently.. Anyway I digress and it would seem, contrary to my opening lines, there was an awful lot I could say.. So dragging myself back on track:Good product, came on time, comedy at It's best, and cost less then a pint 0' Guinness including delivery...

One of the the Funniest films ever
I saw this film when it first came out in the 80's and liked it so much I had it on tape and must have watched it a dozen times.A golf course is the most unlikely setting for a comedy and it is truly brilliant. Starring Bill Murray (Post Ghost Busters I think) and Chevy Chase at their comedy finest and a cheeky Goffer that all adds to the mix. Rodney Dangerfield plays a great straight man treading on the stuffy upper class golfers toes, and young Scott Colomby as the main character golfing his way towards College. If you like old style comedy in bucket loads this film has it all, a real hoot from start to finish.

The Legend of CaddyShack
For years I had heard various golfers and non-golfers raving about what a funny movie CaddyShack is, they even had me quoting what is probably one of the most quoted movie lines - "... Cinderella story, coming out of nowhere...". Eventually I bought the DVD and sat down to some light comic entertainment...The 'Dirty Dancing of the golfing world' I found myself thinking - a similar story line - poor youngsters leading parallel lives - spending their summer days teaching 'hoity toity' golfers how to hold a club and their nights... well who knows quite what goes on in that tucked away caddy shack...From dancing rodents and nutty greenkeepers to chocolate logs and swimming pool de-toxification - join the shacked-up caddies in their summer of fun.
