This product will be used to start a book club for at risk youth.

This book is something that I wish I had read as a high school student. I highly recommend this book for anyone who wants to learn more about their Latinidad and to learn that Latinidad has many stories, faces, traditions, and struggles. I'm definitely recommending this book to my Latino/a/x colleagues and friends.

Varied stories of Latinx youth in the U.S. Representation of the many different cultures that the word Latinx encompasses. I recommend this book.

This book has something for everyone. As somebody mentioned in their review it is not just for kids. Delacre's book is beautifully written and illustrated. I highly recommend it for everyone.

US, in Progress should be read by anyone teaching school in America. It is an eye-opening compilation of short stories about life in the USA as a Latino child, and it is not easy. Each story (drawn from true accounts in The Washington Post and elsewhere) outlines one of the many ways in which they experience life quite differently from mainstream American kids. The poignant tales tug at your heart, and deliver important realities about needing strength and resilience in the face of painful prejudices. Chapters open with masterfully defined graphite portraits of their faces, unfinished, of course, since there is so much yet to come. HIGHLY recommend.

This book does an excellent job of sharing different perspectives in the Latino community. I love the concept--stories inspired by news articles. Source notes at the end explain the inspiration for the stories and cite news articles used in research. The added bonus of breathtaking illustrations makes this book a real keeper. Every school library should have a copy.

Wonderful, excellent book. Each story is told beautifully with care and lifting the voices of those in the stories. Highly recommend for everyone
