Gownies Post Surgery Mastectomy, Breast Cancer Recovery Robe with Internal Pockets

I love love love this robe! I bought a lot of stuff to prepare for my mastectomy - most things I didn't use at all, some things I used for a week or two, and this is the only thing that I will use for years. The material is a soft cotton knit, thin enough that it's lightweight and breathable, but thick enough to be flattering and not see-through. There are 4 pockets inside which are placed perfectly for holding drains, but they lie flat and are totally invisible from the outside when empty. And there are normal side pockets on the outside which are actually a reasonable size.Losing things that made me feel young, independent, and pretty has been the hardest part of the process for me, and most of the products on the market for post-mastectomy care are, well... not very helpful with that. This robe has a timeless feminine cut, some decently cute prints, and I was able to put it on without help after surgery - what a breath of fresh air! Most importantly, it doesn't feel like medical equipment - it was great for after surgery, but it's also just a nice normal robe, perfect for re-integrating into regular life after cancer or whatever condition your surgery is treating.I highly recommend this robe for any average-sized adult with feminine or neutral gender expression who is having chest surgery with drains. Because of how it buttons high at the waist, I wouldn't recommend it for people who prefer a more masculine style.

(Please check size chart and use the US measurements.) I ordered one size larger, because I wanted it loose fitting, and it is exactly what I wanted. The knit fabric is soft and substantial, not flimsy or clingy. There are 4 pockets sewn inside the on the waist band for JP drains, which is very convenient. Very pleased with this purchase.

This is a very high-quality post-surgery gown. It is thoughtfully designed to hold up to four drains (breast or abdomen), buttons securely at the waist with plenty of overlap, and the belt threads through a channel around the entire waist (so no dropping it, contorting to put it through loops, or dragging it in the toilet). I’m getting another one. The fabric is so soft, and has enough body that there’s no way to see through it, and it does not cling to the body or the surgical necessities.

I bought this for my mom after her breast surgery. It was so helpful for her to use with the bags she had left hanging after surgery. The idem was comfortable. Came on time and was packed well. Very pleased and highly recommended for those to use after breast surgery.

The quality is great. It was actually quite heavy. The front has limited options for closing though. It has a little tie and two buttons, but with my breasts gone, the front of the robe just doesn't wrap over itself enough. I'm constantly making sure my incisions are showing from the top of the robe. A traditional robe allows for the wearer to wrap the front over tightly if wanted, this just fastens right in the front with no options. Maybe if I had ordered a size smaller, but it does fit well in the shoulders. Can definitely use over pjs but not if naked.

Covers you well and takes the place of a lot of pieces as it holds your drain tubes/bulbs and covers you very well.The other think I purchased that I would recommend is the minky dot pillow for breast surgery post op.Those two items will get you through as far as special equipment.

I bought this for my mother. It fit well and looked good quality. She is 5'5" and felt like the robe was a little long.

I am so glad I bought these dresses. I had a mastopexy and have lines and drains. After surgery, I thought my favorite pajamas would do but ordered just in case. The fabric is perfect, heavy enough to feel a bit supported, almost like a hug, and so soft. The pockets for the lines and drains make a world of difference. I don't have to feel the plastic on my skin - which seems really sensitive now. The lines are away so I can move and shift my seat freely without them catching and pulling. The closure is buttons and a tie - so that is perfect. If you are having any surgery that you will have drains this is definitely what you need. Plus the prints and colors are pretty.Edit: The print called Jade feels like a different, lighter, a little less soft material. It also runs larger than the other print I bought. It is still a great dress though.

So happy I bought this. Easy to get into and out.

It is helpful in holding drains especially if you have the large ones but it us a very heavy robe and would be best maybe in the winter.
