Timeless design with two great options, easy to make your own
This pattern is a classic, and this packet gives you two options which take the same foundation in different directions - one business casual, and the other pretty formal.Fitting its reputation of working well for a broad range of body types, each packet covers a pretty wide range of sizes. Although, I do wish there were a size or two of overlap between the two packet options - they run 6-14 and 16-24, so I feel bad for someone who's maybe a 14 or a 16!Difficulty-wise, it's not necessarily something a beginner will be able to pull off, but with minor sewing experience the instructions are completely adequate. And of course, experience vs competence is not always linear!Having looked the pattern over, now to find some proper vintage fabric to do it justice.

Glad they re-issued this pattern
I have the original pattern from Vogue and was happy to see that they re-issued the pattern so I ordered this right away. The apparent difference between the original and this newly printed pattern is that the original came in single sizes and this new one comes in the standard Vogue range of sizes where you can choose from 2 options with a smaller range or a larger range. The pattern otherwise seems to have been kept true to the original and is well drafted with all pieces fitting together appropriately. The instructions appear to be true to the original as well and are accurate and overall fairly easy. As is typical for Vogue, more seasoned sewists will change a few things, such as cutting the under collar a scant bit smaller than upper collar, and using a product like a fusible seam tape to stabilize edges where needed. These details are not typically included in Vogue patterns and are the type of thing one learns from a good sewing book instead, so I didn't expect them included in this one and am not removing any stars. This is a great pattern and I'm glad that Vogue has published it again. I hope they keep up the trend with more vintage patterns.

Great pattern
This pattern was very easy to follow, and the measurements (for sizing and amount of fabric needed) were thankfully very accurate. It took about 10 hours start to finish, but this included some minor alterations and a bit of messing with my machine. I imagine it would take far less time to just go straight through the pattern. It seems to be adaptable to different fabric which I love, so I was able to do one with a fun print and one in denim!

A Great Investment of Time & Energy in Creating Timeless Garment(s)
As a seasoned seamstress and professional costume designer, I can vouch for the fact that even Very Easy Vogue can be a bit more challenging than other brands of sewing patterns. But having Diane Von Furstenberg's Classic Wrap Dress reissued via Very Easy Vogue is truly an irresistible match made in heaven. If you can take care to find suitable fabric in a flattering color/pattern, and then find the time to set up your workspace and simply follow directions, you'll be rewarded with a flattering garment that ensures you’ll look and feel your best on countless occasions for years and years to come. This is a super-comfortable, figure-flattering design that conceals a multitude of sins quite well and can seem quite suitable in myriad settings, from casual to formal, just as the envelope illustration demonstrates by providing the same pattern in two dramatically different settings: both as a below the knee day dress and as a more formal floor length garment for evening wear.
