I am amazed at how hard it is to find a machinist's rule with a scale that starts at the end of the ruler and where the end is actually square, zero and not too short or long. For some odd reason it appears that many if not most rulers have a margin at the end and there is a zero mark. Totally unusable if you need to measure the depth of a hole or ledge. This ruler's end is zero and it is as accurate as I can determine without lab equipment. The depth stop is square and clamps snugly without play. Not sure what the complaint is about where it is made. It is either accurate or it isn't. If you are looking for something to salute buy a flag.

This pocket ruler is made in CHINA! Not Japan. If you’re looking for a Japanese pocket ruler I suggest looking elsewhere.
