The Tunes Keep Coming!
This is the third volume of this series and it just keeps getting better. It was yet another automatic buy for this Looney lover. This set featured another 25 tunes spanning 30 years of shorts from 1934 to 1964. I've only had it for a couple of hours so I can't say that I've watched them all yet, but there is some really great stuff on this disc!I really hope that WB keeps this series going until we have ALL the Looney Library out on Blu Ray!Here's the contents, sorted by year:1934 0073 - Honeymoon Hotel1935 0096 - Mr. and Mrs. Is the Name1937 0156 - I Only Have Eyes For You 0169 - Egghead Rides Again1938 0207 - Cinderella Meets Fella 0214 - A Feud There Was1941 0311 - Elmer's Pet Rabbit 0346 - Saddle Silly1942 0352 - Hop, Skip and a Chump 0384 - The Sheepish Wolf1946 0467 - Quentin Quail1947 0497 - Hobo Bobo 0508 - Mexican Joyride1948 0541 - Riff Raffy Daffy1953 0681 - There Auto Be a Law 0695 - Of Rice and Hen 0698 - Punch Trunk1954 0726 - Sheep Ahoy1956 0773 - Tugboat Granny1958 0829 - Pre-Hysterical Hare1959 0835 - China Jones1961 0879 - The Mouse on 57th Street1962 0895 - Wet Hare1964 0927 - Dumb Patrol 0934 - War and Pieces

More Gems From The Vault
WB releases another batch of Looney Tunes never before released on disc fully restored. There is a mix of shorts that surprisingly weren’t put out on the golden collections along with some really obscure ones.Egghead/Proto-Elmer gets some representation with some of his best entries. Cinderella Meets Fella, a hilarious take on the fairy tale looks perfect (sound, not so much). At least they corrected the dubious photoshop title for this release. A Feud There Was has finally made it to disc. The last time was on the old laserdisc collection.Bugs Bunny has some if his first and last entries here. Elmer’s Pet Rabbit, a fan favorite which was seen many times on vhs and tv rotation, skipped the DVD format and jumped to Bluray. Dumb Patrol, not a fan favorite, has no prior home media release. It should still be a welcome addition for Bugs completists. Some oddities include Honeymoon Hotel, significant for being the first WB cartoon in color. Cutesy on the surface, but full of pre-code themes. Hobo Bobo, a classic one-shot by McKimson was previously restored for MeTV with its Blue Ribbon credits. Here, they utilized an imperfect print with original titles. The first scene with the title character lacks the sharpness compared to the rest of the short though. Still a plus to see regardless. Two rarely seen shorts, China Jones and Mexican Joyride should hopefully be a sign of shorts that have been pulled from TV showing up on future volumes. This series keeps getting better and better. I say more Tex Avery. My votes go to shorts like Aloha Hooey and Believe It Or Else. And hopefully more of those awful photoshop titles will be undone.

Looney Tune-y Goodness, three time's the charm.
Warner Bros. has had their problems recently, but credit were it's due, their home release division cares to preserve these legendary cartoons. It's great seeing more obscure and '30's shorts in these sets. It shows they're making these for serious collectors and not just mainstream buyers. And it's great to see more of Tex Avery's WB library being released as he helped give Looney Tunes their identity and his work needs to be seen for new generations. It's wild to me the Golden Collections never had a disc dedicated to his WB cartoons considering how much the man shaped the cartoons style and humor. Oh well, plenty of opportunity to make up for it.Hope WB keeps releasing these sets as I'll keep buying them. Will be even better if they start doing two disc releases to fill the void left from no more Golden Collections. Either way, if you're a fan of the Tunes or classic theatrical shorts in general, or if you just wanna see more cartoons on Blu Ray, you can't go wrong with this set.It just keeps on going, folks.

Another Fine HD Collection
The series "Looney Tunes Collector's Choice" continues with volume three. Much like the first two volumes it features twenty-five new to home video classic cartoons from the Warner Bros. archives. This volume is worth the price of admission for "China Jones" (anybody offended by racial stereotypes better skip this one), "Of Rice and Hen" with Foghorn Leghorn & Prissy, "Punch Trunk" featuring the five inch high bull elephant terrorising NYC and "Sheep Ahoy" with Ralph the sheepdog & Sam the wolf clocking on and off. Special mention also goes to "Tugboat Granny". As with the previous volumes in the series, it would be nice to see some extra features about the restoration of these rare cartoons but in 2024 am very grateful for physical media releases.
