Perfect Planner
What a great book. Just what my fiance and I needed to keep our heads on straight. Has all the traditional wedding planning tools, with the emotional and practical advice to go with it. Helped me plan the most beautiful wedding that fit my budget, thrilled my parents, and most of all reflected our style as a couple. The written exercises you do as a couple are great. I'll treasure this book for a long time.

Has valuable questions to think about, but seems to ...
Has valuable questions to think about, but seems to spend a lot of time reassuring me that my fears about getting married are normal and trying to help me work through them. I don't have fears about getting married. I just have anxiety about the *wedding.* To be fair, being polyamorous probably keeps me from panicking that I'll never be able to have a crush on someone EVER AGAIN, and poly brides are probably not a large percentage of the audience. I think this would be most helpful for a bride/couple who hasn't already spent a lot of time (particularly in therapy!) talking about the issues she helps raise.

Absolutely essential for any bride who cares as much about her heart as her dress.
If I were a millionaire, I would keep a case of these in my car trunk and hand them out to any women I met who were getting married. I do give a copy to friends and family members who get engaged. When I got engaged a few years ago, I went looking for a wedding planner book and was discouraged by the total focus on the superficial elements of the wedding in every book I found. When I discovered this one it was like a gift. Because of its suggestions I was emotionally prepared for my wedding and my marriage in a way I certainly would not otherwise have been. I am tremendously grateful to Paul for putting the focus of a wedding back where it should be, on the relationship between the two people joining their lives.

3/3 with my friends
I have purchased this book for two different friends at the recommendation of a third, and all three have really appreciated it. It's helpful from planning your wedding, making sure you do everything the night before, and what to expect on your wedding night for a more conservative bride.

Great wedding planner for anyone that has anxiety
Great wedding planner for anyone that has anxiety. Very insightful. I recommend talking to the woman who wrote this book if you cannot seem to deal with wedding jitters, just google her name.

Helped me keep perspective.
I really appreciated the advice in this book and the levelheaded approach to rites of passage. I appreciated the emotional/maturity related materials more than the actual organization/worksheets. Thanks to the thoughtful material in this book I was able to embrace both the joy and the sadness of the occasion without feeling confused as to why I had some sadness. It was explained beautifully here and my much younger (at that time) self really needed that information.

Fun for both
I'm going through this together with my fiance. It helps you to take your time and gradually go through the process together while keeping you focused on the reason you're planning a wedding in the first place. It goes through the various struggles people have with the process. Some of them may not apply to your situation but it's actually comforting to read those sections and talk about how grateful you are that you don't have to worry about certain things!

Please, get this book... but only if you like feeling calm and prepared.
When all of this wedding planning stuff is over and done for me, THIS book will, hands down, be the most valuable thing I spent money on. I swear I've highlighted at least half of it.I love how it walks us through the logistics of planning the big day like you would expect from a typical wedding planner... yet in a way that helps us mold the wedding into something meaningful that reflects us as a couple. But even more valuable, it also walks us through the emotional journey (our "rite of passage", as Sheryl calls it) that goes hand in hand with making one of the most monumental shifts we will ever experience in our life. Like a wise and loving wedding mentor, Sheryl accompanies us through the decisions and questions that ultimately don't just prepare us for the wedding day, but help set the foundation for a solid marriage. She addresses things like:- shifting into adulthood, where it's not just about me anymore- why do we want to make this commitment with each other?- what is marriage anyway?- what does it mean to be a wife nowadays?- dealing with the fears around letting go of the comfortable and familiar and stepping into the unknown- how to navigate the normal emotions (good and scary) that will come up during this life transitionIt's kind of like pre-marital counseling in a hardcover in that it gets us to wrestle with big, important, rubber-hits-the-road questions that would normally get overlooked. (It makes for great discussions with your partner.)For anyone who realizes there's more to a wedding than watching "Say Yes to the Dress" episodes and figuring out your colour scheme, please get this book. I can't recommend it enough!!

Love love love
Love the book, the format is amazing, big sized pages, hard covers, nicely designed, and it is not in black and white, it has pale colored pages with color photos- looking romantic. And most importantly, the content is invaluable! every bride should have one.
